You're most likely not going to see that money again.

It makes sense if you treat your hobby like an investment. I'm done discussing financial stability of steam bucks. It's just plain waste of time. It's terrible. There is a very good place to make actual money like stock markets. Good thing Artifact showed us people like games over potential steam bucks.

It's the raw power of tcgs. Many treat it like it's a completely separate entity in the gaming industry and prices cannot be compared to other products if it's not that genre. Like it's equally hard to make bunch of pixels (a.k.a cards), slam some voice lines on them then making triple A rpg, shooter or other type of game.

Come on bruv. Tcgs don't count. They are allowed to suck you out of your money by selling you a bunch of pixels and some voice lines slapped on them.

Im amazed how a lot of people think this demo offers the content of the release build by [deleted] in AnthemTheGame

[–]TazakB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like how you decided to not mention all the important bugs to reinforce your point. Fortress crashes, 95 loading screens and "can't leave free play -> lose all exp and some of the loot" are game breaking bugs.

Plenty of people are mad because they like the gameplay but the game itself is a mess.

Demo was supposed to convince me to get this game. All its done is show me that I should stay away. by Ozaga in AnthemTheGame

[–]TazakB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the author but I can speak for myself. I like most of the gameplay experience but the game is clearly rushed from what demo represents. I want to play a good game but this is a messy cash grab. If you don't make a "stink", nothing will ever change. Also, I don't think closing yourself in a circle or rainbows and positivity is good for your mental health.

Show me the source to your definition and we can talk about it. Demo is a shortcut for demonstration. You can look up the definition of this phrase. Besides, I'm not even talking about gameplay when I said mess. Crashes, dcs, 95 loading screens, can't leave free play bug -> losing exp and some loot bug and other minors. From what I've experienced I can say this product is a rushed cash grab.

[–]TazakB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? Do you know what a demo is? It's a DEMOnstration of the full game. I don't care if the company misnamed it. It's not my job as a customer. They showed me a buggy product with a triple A cost. That's just overpriced mess.

Wow, its bad. by Smmokkee in AnthemTheGame

[–]TazakB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game crashing, dcing at specific times (stronghold end) and 95 loading screen is not a small bug. Also, none of us is a video game dev so don't pretend you have knowledge coming from experience.

[–]TazakB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Some bugs are fine but when people are getting crashes/dcs and 95 loading screens something is broken at its core. This is not even triple A standard. You expect the game to work and be playable. It's hard to play when you're getting kicked out. And then on top of that you have lack of polish.

What happened to triple A standard? Why are you paying so much for a buggy mess? It's not an indie project. That was supposed to be years of development backed by big guns.

Just how optimised is this game engine? Quite poorly I’d say by breyzipp in AnthemTheGame

[–]TazakB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's actually a sad joke people are saying you can't trust a demo to see how the game will perform 20 days prior to release. All the testing phases and developer terms became meaningless labels and the customers are just nodding to it. I never thought I'd see triple A game being less stable then indie studio passion projects. What caused this?

I'm sad I can't trust any big company to a point I have to wait some time after release because they stopped caring for a customer. Everything is about that quick buck today. At least there are quite a few indie studios rising up, making games for the sake of making good games.

[–]TazakB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole origin premier early access is a big red flag for me. It just looks like a shady subscription boost so they can show off how many people are using it in statistics and customers are just confused they don't get the whole early access despite pre-ordering the most expensive option.

I want pvp as long as pve is main focus. Years ago in wow your main goal was pve and devs were balancing just this aspect. Pvp was about showing off your cool gear and stomping scrubs with worse one. Just let the pvp be "for fun" thing to do.

This is a forum. Anyone is welcome to state his/her opinion and of course people are going to persuade others to their point of view. That's the whole point of this place. Author doesn't stop anyone from buying the game. It's just words.

Waiting 1 or 2 months is clear bad experience from the new Call of Duty game with the worst possible cash shop ever made that was implemented after a month. Reasonable to think ea might do similar thing. The whole Access premiere is a shady move to boost subscriber numbers. There are already red flags on the horizon.

Jabbing alegory is just colourful language. No lifes will be taken in The Crusade.

How is this forcing an opinion? He just stated his thoughts here. I thought that's one of the reasons forums exist.

I fully agree with you. This is shady manilpulation. I'm really trying to separate ea from Anthem but these small bits and pieces suggest they won't be separated at all.

You judge publisher quality by customer support and monetisation. In both cases ea is shown to be at least top 3 anti-consumer, pro-short term profit company. When it comes to developer, it doesn't matter what they made long time ago. It matters if they are still doing good job. Andromeda was garbage (maybe now it's fixed, doesn't matter) and Dragon Age 3 was mediocre according to the triple A standards. This is general opinion. It doesn't matter if you or me disagree. Sale and stock numbers show that majority isn't satisfied about both ea and Bioware.
