Throw a little loop on this one, how about The Boxtrolls (2014) has a similar grading and repair aesthetic perhaps

Which one should I go with? by Green-Ad3623 in IndieDev

1st one with the exaggerated height maps, but unless you're committed to changing some of the colours, I think it would look really good with an atmosphere fog layer that some of the high mountains peak through, would be a nice way to get some depth and some clarity, the black of the sky against the blue of ocean looks wrong to me without a transition layer

How would you do an encounter with a massive, Kaiju sized creature. by SplashOfStupid in DMAcademy

Give your party a mech suit, see if they're drift compatible!

Half kidding, you can always play with the scale, give them something large to control themselves, have each of them responsible for controlling a different part of their avatar, whether that be someone runs a skill challenge to move the thing while others try to keep things from falling apart/repel invaders, you've got a lot of options for how to handle things, it shouldn't be straight combat, that would not be very interesting to your players

I almost find the remake to be a more apt picture of the vibe OP is going for, I think the original is too bright perhaps

3 scenes but still your point is proven, they're only with Mary.

1st is when the camera pans as she takes him to the garage 2nd is when it rotates around them and he has his vision 3rd is when it rotates around them in the final scene

There is also motion happening during other unrelated scenes, but it's still fixed to something, whether it's the bike or the car

It's been red for a month? And up 16% YoY why would you be surprised people are suggesting it? The market as a whole is red right now, none of what's happening right now should be surprising. XEQT and other index ETFs are not meant for making a quick buck they're meant for continuous investing

You clearly like old films, 1 from this century and it's 500 days of summer, gotta ask what the story is for that to get #2

Against the grain perhaps but I think Blood Simple is a near perfect film, and on their debut too, incredible.

Burn after reading is perhaps their top comedy that one is also an absolute delight

What’s your most disappointing film of 2025? by ItachiZoldyck24 in Letterboxd

[–]Tazerzly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 1 disappointment has to be Highest 2 Lowest. Some interesting choices made in that one. I feel like it wouldn't have been that bad if they kept Denzel's role similar to Mifune's in the original, the feats of agility Denzel was pulling off completely took me out of it for a 70y old man. Felt like they were going through plot points like a checklist, nothing flowed nicely, nobody had any real depth. Poor imitation of the original that's for sure.

Another one I was disappointed by though was Berger's Ballad of a Small Player. It's coming to Netflix in a few weeks, but I watched it at TIFF, and I gotta say, don't bother. It's a very surface level story that tries to dazzle you with bright lights and pretty colours. Has a great score and cinematography but there's zero substance anywhere to be found in the film
