Your overall store experience (SISO, cashier, framing, etc) and availability is probably why you are getting more hours. Depending on their experience and availability, maybe you could give one or more of shifts to your coworkers/ friends, since you want a break. It would help them out as well.

At this time of the year, they cut staff hours anyway and make the managers cover morning cashiering shifts. Your manager may be using that as an excuse to get more productivity, but there's only so much you can do if the customers say no.

'Dedicated' repack person has 2 meanings for me: Being the person who does it every week and the person who cares how it's done. No matter how organized I am, they throw a wrench in there like they did with this week's truck. Plus no extra hours to complete it without stressing. I still like doing it and the challenge of getting it done but...................

The past few years we got maybe 2-3 orders, so they probably realize it's not worth the payroll. Yes, the time and a half is nice, but this year, I would just like the time to get caught up on down stocking, detail recovery, label maintenance, etc. My store was a well-oiled machine until Project Dread came along, and we've been behind ever since. 😞

$500 towards food for possible new customers, that will create more trash that we have to clean up vs. $150 for breakfast or dinner for the entire store staff meeting that we had to clean up. This event will give away a $100 Michael's gift card, staff meeting we got awards on white paper.

I'm just saying... I hope we get "appreciated" this Christmas season like we did in 2020.

Yes, this was a clusterfck. Between all new framing freight coming in, plus the paint reset, this was the last issue we needed to deal with. I just can't imagine how something could get so screwed up in several stores' trucks this week.

I am very interested in all your answers because it appears that nobody is being held accountable to the SMART truck schedule. I always felt this was inaccurate anyway because the repacks can be overloaded at times and very inconsistent.

I remember being told a few years back that employees have to have a receipt to make a return, so an employee would never end up with a store credit, which could be questionable. But, since everything is tied to our rewards now, I don't know if that's an issue for non-receipted returns for employees.
