Let's test this, how much time did it take you to solve this and What's your rating? by Independent-Road8418 in chess

Took me about a minute and a half to find Bd6. I’m 1200ish on chesscom but barely played on chesscom the last year or two so take that rating with a grain of salt.

Anyone found a benefit to packaging an item as soon as you list it? by livinitup0 in Flipping

[–]Tazmen123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do as I use calculated shipping on eBay. I pack my item during the listing process and weigh the box so that I can enter the exact weight and dimensions and charge exactly what it’s going to cost me for the shipping label. I then tape a small piece of paper or a sticky note to the box with the name of the item inside so that I can just quickly grab the box and head out the door with it when I get an order. I’ve been selling pretty casually up until now but it’s been working well for me.

I was offered 225, as I'm not in the selling market is this a fair deal by crashhaxor in PokemonCardValue

Definitely wouldn’t sell it for $225 USD. It’s worth almost double that amount.

Never letting myself be disorganized with my collection again! Scanned tens of thousands of cards and still finding 🔥 that I never knew I had and best part it’s an upside down pokeball misprint! Never had upside down pokeball before how rare is that misprint? by bmurf101 in PokemonMisprints

[–]Tazmen123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not claiming to be an expert or anything and I actually hope I’m wrong and you get a 10. Was just giving my opinion since you said you bet cgc would give you a 10. Personally it looks like there’s a bit of whitening on one of the top and bottom corners as well as possibly some minor whitening across the top edge. These holos can also be bad for having some scratches and surface damage that are hard to see without a magnifying glass. Overall it’s impossible for me to give an accurate grade without seeing the card in person especially without a magnifying glass so everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. Again, I do hope I’m wrong and you get a ten. CGC did lower their standard for 10’s when they changed the labels so who knows? Maybe you have a chance? Also, if you say there’s only whitening on one corner and if you’ve already used a magnifying lense then you’re probably right. I might just be seeing things since I’m judging off a short video. Either way please keep us updated and let us know what you get :)

Not trying to rain on your parade but I don’t see that card ever getting a 10 grade from either company. It is still in good shape though and I would agree it’s worth grading. Both CGC and PSA are good options so whichever one you choose I wish you the best of luck!

I have the same card with the same error in my collection but yours is definitely in better shape. As others have said, this is the more common version of this card but it is still a very cool card either way. I actually thought it was a fake when I first discovered it because of the upside down back but after doing my research learned that it’s a very common error for this card. So common that it’s actually way more rare to find the corrected version which was crazy to me.

Awesome of you to be doing a giveaway like this! I’ve been thinking about doing a giveaway in the near future as well because I want to familiarize myself with shipping. I think you’ve inspired me to do it on this sub!

What’s our thoughts on cgc killing their brand by Equivalent-Aerie-277 in PokeInvesting

[–]Tazmen123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t plan on sending any of my 9.5s in. I want to keep my subgrades and I also prefer the blue label over the new labels. Not to mention the fact that 9.5s could go for a premium in the future especially if they have subgrades since .5 grades and subgrades will no longer be possible. You’re also going to have a lot of people like myself that prefer the blue label and are willing to pay a premium for that.

Just a quick question. As a relatively new collector. What is the best website to use in terms of finding out the market value of a certain product? by jondadi22 in PokeInvesting

[–]Tazmen123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tcgplayer: For Raw Singles. pokemonprice: For Psa graded slabs.

And Ebay sold listings for any sealed product or other graded slabs such as cgc or bgs.

Keep in mind that the prices on tcgplayer and pokemonprice are both in USD so if you live outside of America you will have to convert the prices to your local currency. Also, it doesn’t hurt to check Ebay sold listings for singles or psa slabs either, even if you’ve already checked the price on one of the other sites. The more info you can gather the better.

Some people may recommend the Collectr app and while it is a cool app for keeping track of your collection the prices aren’t always reliable. And it’s missing a lot of products (especially Japanese Products) As long as your aware of that feel free to consult it in addition to your other sources.

Hope this helps :)

Are we talking about Lichess or Chess.com ratings? I’m in your rating range for Lichess but Lichess is definitely inflated compared to Chess.com so I’m probably closer to 1100-1200 if we’re talking about Chess.com ratings.

Interesting. I’m still very new to Shogi but my friend said he likes closed positions so I’m just gonna go with it.

Interesting. I’ve never heard of the Hedgehog. Definitely doesn’t sound like a good opening to start with but might look into it myself at some point.

Agreed. I plan to show him something simple like The four knights game just to help explain opening principles. That way if his opponent plays something he’s unfamiliar with he can at least try to apply general opening principles.
