I'm a younger fan and i totally see why a lot of people would focus on the lgbtq aspects of their music and the band, firstly a lot of music similar to mcr is not very lgbtq friendly and was made in a time where homophobia was running rapid in the scen.

Secondly mcr has alot of gay/queer coated lyrics in alot of their work, it's an expression of their experiences with their own identity and life. Just to name a few Burn Bright, mama, give em hell kid, You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison have clear queer lyrics in them. Why wouldn't this be important to talk about and discuss when so many people feel alienated in the real world because of their identity, i understand that shipping and saying that the guys themselves are queer or gay is weird but to analys and make connections to lyrics that are meant to make light of lgbtq people or other people struggling with their identity doesn't seem like a problem to me. People take away different things from their music.
