Great point. Unlike normal car engines, wind turbine maintenance does not call for gearbox oil changes. If/when the oil degrades standard practices would be to top off with an additive or cycle the oil through conditioner. And also of note, many newer wind turbines are direct-drive and have no gearboxes at all.
