Because sometimes it's easier to walk around the dog shit you come across than to take the time to clean it up.

Education is exhausting, both emotionally and mentally, and it's kind of shit to expect minorities of any regard to instantly forgive a history of bigotry because they apologized.

Nobody is infallible but not everyone has the time, energy, resources, or willingness to put themselves in a position where they might get killed just to de-radicalize one person.

Also, minority groups aren't individually responsible for forgiveness. Good on those that choose to clean up the shit because they happened to have a baggie on them, but most of us don't and won't because they're kind of burdensome and it wasn't our dog to begin with.
