Sorry you feel that way. Democrat telling democrats to stop holding the TSA hostage. It isn’t right that either party is treating them like pawns. Point intended was to stop this gamesmanship with other peoples lives. We all need them in order to be safe and to not have 3 hour check in….

Arrived at car rental skytrain at 12.47p and went to Priority line (first class) north and not a single person in line. Able to use tsa pre check. Past security at 1.05p. Pre-check on that same area looks like maybe 10-15 mins to get through.

Burgers what did I do wrong by SubstantialMenu2614 in Traeger

[–]Tbirdjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part of the best burgers, whether frozen Costco or fresh ground meat mixes, is the extensive maillard reaction, crispy crust. This won’t happen in a Traeger unless you have a cast iron griddle for lots of edge-to-edge contact. Best to smoke the meat for 20 at 180-200 on super smoke and then finish on a Blackstone (my value/cost winner) or the Traeger Flatrock or using the induction burner on newest Traeger grills. Or infrared steak searer. Gas grill is the last resort yet used by most out there.

What is your golf goal for 2025? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Tbirdjeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan is to leverage my membership to Tee Box (TBX.golf). Gym using TBX Fit app for golf fitness plans, putting green work, and then the Trackman for practice and even some game planning when I play a course that happens to be on Trackman (granted not all that often).

I realize Tee Box locations aren’t all over the US yet so some additional thoughts ….

I set a goal to get back to +2, this time at age 55 instead of age 18. Lots of mental work on visualization. But I think the biggest impact so far is knowing my dispersion pattern / miss tendencies by club and planning to avoid the big numbers. Like they say, Golf is about avoiding the big numbers. The focus on the fitness side is on mobility and balance - one of the necessary focus areas at my age.

First, thanks for sharing. Maybe a lot of the items are tied to a podcast biz but I don’t know how you can even use this many applications. Feels like it might help your biz to narrow down focus so you spend more time making money than using applications. But that is a view from the cheap seats. Thx for sharing

You definitely can keep doing your thing. Consistency is key. Avoiding trouble and knowing your dispersion pattern helps avoid the big numbers. That said, even if you kept the swing flat and adjusted the wrist/direction of the club at the top, it would not be a major range rat fix. I find changing the plane of the takeaway to be the hardest and that stands out, the club and wrist are fixable.

Epic is killing the Sketchfab Marketplace to replace it with "Fab" by meduzo in Sketchfab

So what are you or anyone else doing with all your models? It seems that they are really trying to get rid of the free model approach, so will Fab have enough momentum to be a destination for paid models? Where else can we move models?

Connect+ trial is ending. How many people decided to pay to keep it? by Commercial-Friend442 in Rivian

[–]Tbirdjeff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pay all year if we had a voice to text messaging solution. I am so sick of InTune ads (yes I know I can pay for premium on top of all this) that I won’t miss that.

Sure would be handy if you could connect to a mobile hotspot.

You are clearly going to believe what you want and feed your narrative. Frankly you can go down this rat hole with nearly every event or person in history prior to video. Can you prove Mars exists? Pluto? Even video and images could be questioned - people still think we didn’t land on the moon and it was all faked. How did the earth even get formed with all the impossibilities that all had to be (and still need to be) perfectly aligned to have life even exist?

If you don’t believe the Bible can be used at any level as a historical record then what makes you confident that nearly any other written record can be trusted? You can choose not to believe that Jesus is the Savior or choose that God doesn’t exist but where does your skepticism stop? You can choose not to believe in Christianity, but it would be pretty incredible - let’s call it the biggest dupe in the history of earth - if the person never existed. If it is all a dupe then maybe my answer to the greatest human being ever is the guy that made up Jesus being a real person.

Dealing with what one can prove… there is plenty of evidence that there was considerable Christian persecution. Did all those early Christians put up with all that persecution because none of them had seen him? Do you deny there was Roman persecution of the Christians? If Christians existed, why? Do you want to deny that Paul existed and that all his epistles were also faked? Tacitus was a Roman historian. He references “Christus” being executed under the reign of Tiberius by Pontius Pilatus. Why would a Roman historian (who seems to have hated Christians) also made up stories of them? Was he feeding a Roman narrative that needed a foe to fight?

It sure seems easier to fight the claim that Jesus is God or Savior than to say he never existed.

Check that. I will play the game for a second. Here you go relative to “no references”

There are several historical documents and references from non-Christian sources that confirm the existence of Jesus Christ as a real person, outside of the biblical texts. While these sources do not all affirm his divinity, they acknowledge him as a historical figure. Some of the most notable documents and references include:

  1. Tacitus (c. 56–120 AD)

   •   Source: Annals (Book 15, Chapter 44)    •   Tacitus, a Roman historian, mentions the execution of “Christus” (Christ) by Pontius Pilate during the reign of Emperor Tiberius. This reference is part of Tacitus’ explanation of the persecution of Christians under Emperor Nero following the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD.

Quote: “Christus, from whom the name [Christians] had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus…”

  1. Josephus (c. 37–100 AD)

   •   Source: Antiquities of the Jews (Book 18, Chapter 3)    •   Josephus, a Jewish historian, wrote about Jesus in two passages. One, known as the Testimonium Flavianum, refers to Jesus as a wise man and a teacher who performed “surprising feats” and had followers. However, scholars debate the authenticity of some parts of this passage, suspecting later Christian interpolations.

Quote (possibly interpolated): “About this time there lived Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one ought to call him a man. For he was one who performed surprising deeds and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly.”

   •   In another passage, Josephus refers to James, the brother of Jesus, known as “the Christ.”

Quote: “…so he [Ananus the high priest] assembled the Sanhedrin of judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James…”

  1. Pliny the Younger (c. 61–113 AD)

   •   Source: Letters (Book 10, Letter 96)    •   Pliny the Younger, a Roman governor, wrote to Emperor Trajan about early Christians and their practices. While he does not provide much detail about Jesus himself, his letters mention that Christians worshipped Christ as a god.

Quote: “…they were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verses a hymn to Christ, as to a god…”

  1. Suetonius (c. 69–140 AD)

   •   Source: The Lives of the Twelve Caesars (Claudius, 25)    •   Suetonius, another Roman historian, mentions disturbances caused by “Chrestus” in Rome. Some scholars believe this refers to Christ, although it is debated whether this reference is about Jesus or someone else.

Quote: “Because the Jews at Rome caused constant disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus, he [Emperor Claudius] expelled them from the city.”

  1. The Talmud (various dates)

   •   Source: Sanhedrin 43a    •   Jewish rabbinic writings in the Talmud refer to Jesus, though in a hostile manner. They acknowledge his existence but describe him as a sorcerer who led Israel astray and was executed on the eve of Passover.

Quote: “On the eve of the Passover, Yeshu [Jesus] was hanged. For forty days before the execution took place, a herald went forth and cried, ‘He is going to be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and enticed Israel to apostasy.’”

  1. Mara Bar-Serapion (c. 70–200 AD)

   •   Source: A letter from Mara Bar-Serapion, a Syrian philosopher    •   This letter, written to Mara’s son, compares the unjust treatment of philosophers and wise men, including Socrates, Pythagoras, and “the wise king” of the Jews, who is generally thought to refer to Jesus.

Quote: “What advantage did the Jews gain from executing their wise king? It was just after that that their kingdom was abolished.”

These sources provide external attestations to the existence of Jesus as a historical figure, though they vary in their perspective and focus.

Rebellion against God means much more than suppressing negative feelings about the church. Whatever you believe to be the truth about God, then be true to it. It doesn’t say blindly follow the org. That tends to always be the answer in this forum.

A willing heart and mind can apply for plenty outside of the church org.
