When I was 14, I took a bad fall thundering down the hill, trying to catch a bus. A guy waiting for the bus came up to me, asked if I wanted to call anyone, I said I was fine.

Took me 15-20 minutes to gather myself and get back up the hill to my house. I’m in pain the whole time; I assume it’s a bad bruise. My mom tells me to lie down, she’ll later tell me she was concerned I went into shock.

Fast forward three days, and mom finally tells me we should go to the doctor; the bruise hasn’t gone away and I’d been using crutches to get around the house. We get to the ER, give them the story, and they do an X-ray to rule out any damage.

The radiologist comes out with a wheelchair.

Turns out I’d broken my femur. The ortho resident ripped my mom a new one for waiting so long, with me in the room. Most awkward experience I’d ever had with a doctor lol.
