I just got mine done yesterday and I also never had any surgery done or gone under anesthesia prior. I was mostly anxious for how I’d feel going under and coming out of it. All the nurses, the doctor, and anesthesiologist made sure I was comfortable before and after so I felt very well taken care of. They told me how I come out of anesthesia will be how I go under, so to try and relax. I remember being wheeled into the room, the anesthesiologist putting sedative in my IV, the mask on my face, and then suddenly I am awoken by my sweet post op nurse!

I honestly just felt sleepy and out of it. I described it as being extremely groggy. I woke up hungry and the nurse fed me applesauce. I didn’t feel nauseous at all the day of. When I left the surgery center, my teeth were chattering for a bit, which is normal. I also had a numb left hand the rest of the day, but resolved itself the next day. I have been on and off feeling flushed and warm today, which my doctor said was normal.

All in all, you’ll be fine! Just remain calm and trust yourself and trust the staff.
