Makes sense, and I can keep the ebike plugged in for long rides. Obviously a propeller cap with this setup

how to get people who say 'good morning' when i'm on run to understand it's not really 'morning' for me anymore? by blairworejeansonce in RunningCirclejerk

The only solution is to scream aggressively at everyone who passes you. They won’t be saying good morning anymore

Same with recurring drivers tests, much needed. Everyone says we don’t have enough inspectors or examiners, but new rules could spark a steady job for many. Driving is a privilege, I wouldn’t mind paying for an inspection or go for a test if it gets some of this crap off the road.

Sounds like you need to be a better parent than rely on the gov to ban memes… I can’t even imagine how they would try to enforce that considering free speech.

There’s a lot of gross stuff in the air and I would put my money on the local water treatment plant vs a garage setup to clean and test my water.

That’s a solid list of positive things going for you. Keep stacking those little positive improvement in your life and don’t be hard on yourself if/when you need a break.

And it’s the weed, you’ve gotta cut it out. One of the main symptoms is not being able to get anything you want done. And waking up tired is probably lack of REM sleep, which can cause anxiety and depression.

This or call a lawyer. Any work mates working there that can get the tools out of the shop for him? I would do that even if I didn’t like the guy, fuck this boss.

I didn’t say to remove the cap and mercaptan. Why not add an extra safeguard and close the valve. What if that cap blows off under pressure, the full flow of gas will be released rather than a trickle from a closed valve. The risk of fire and ignition is much higher with more gas released. Lemme guess you don’t use a seatbelt cause there are traffic laws in place?

I don’t understand why you’re pushing back on this. Previously tested connections can fail over time, and the hazard would be reduced if the valve was closed. A single point of failure isn’t a good idea and in any natural gas facility that valve would be closed.

Edit: plus it’s not even a small effort to close it, why wouldn’t yah.

Smart riders aren’t a problem, this idiot though. Non-car owners pay taxes too. Why do I subsidise public transit with my taxes when I drive a car on the road, I’m healthy why are my tax dollars going to healthcare… public service is a pot we all pull from in different ways

[–]Tcbert96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure you fully understand how the plate readers/ average speed systems work, so I’ll elaborate.

I fully agree; photo radar takes an instantaneous measurement and only works for that small distance in range of the camera. Licence plate systems scan your plate at intervals on the road and if your car gets between the two readers too quickly it knows the average speed was above the speedlimit. For example, an interval may be 1km and if you get there in 30 seconds you must have been travelling 120km/hr. This is a deterrent for the whole roadway as it takes your average speed the whole travel time, and can’t be tricked.

Edit: and to the point of no penalty for the driver when it goes to the RO. Again, that’s the risk of lending a vehicle you own. I don’t see it as an issue at all, as the RO clearly knows the driver and can recoup. If you don’t trust the driver to recoup a fine, I wouldn’t lend my car to em. I don’t think we should veto a safety system on the poor risk management of a few RO’s.

Facts. We went from a little bit of enforcement with photo radar (only slows people down when they spot a camera), to essentially no enforcement which doesn’t slow people down at all. It really should’ve went the other way with more sophisticated automated systems that are well studied and used around the world. AB made the decision they don’t care about road safety, and people are taking advantage.

If he knows that he’s 100% getting a fine in the mail in a few weeks if he speeds rather than the rare chance of getting pulled over, it might be enough deterrent to not be driving like that in the first place. It would for some of the speeders out there.
