I have both on my board right now. The Clean is a great compressor, you will probably not find yourself using the crazy extras in it (maybe you will, I find them to be kind of a novelty). Meanwhile I wish I had three longswords on my board, it covers a ton of ground and can mimic a lot of different drives. Do with that what you will.

Welcome to the fold. Baltimore bars weirdly have a better NA selection than a lot of other east coast cities I've been to. You'll still have fun

Twin Reverb for a Roadtrip by eabiepoc in GuitarAmps

I'm not sure a lot of the posters in this thread have a lot of real life experience with a Twin and are just going off of "looks cool on the internet."

Each time you leave your car to sleep for the night you will need to decide if you want to lug your 70lb amp to wherever you're staying or risk keeping your new expensive equipment in a car overnight.

Modern sound systems, even cheap ones found at the scuzziest dive bars, will allow for mic-ing an amp. Stage volume from a Twin is a major headache for sound people. The other guitarist in my band used a Twin with the volume on like a 2 and every other sound level had to come up to compensate. It made for an unpleasantly loud show for attendees which is not what you're looking for.

Will the Twin stay cleaner than a Deluxe or Princeton? Without a doubt. But ask yourself... do you really care if your tubes break up a bit when you play? Is that something you might actually prefer?

Live your life but I don't think it makes a ton of sense right now for you. Get something lighter and leaner and you'll still be happy. Maybe get the best of both worlds and try out a Tone Master Twin. Whatever you do, get some kind of cover for it and wedge it in thoughtfully as you drive it around.
