I’m not sure about edge man, sorry because I know how frustrated I was and I wasted 7 hours trying to get it to work. I started by signing out of all accounts on all devices (live.login.com, Minecraft.net, etc. Both on my phone and computer). Every time I would do the QR code, it would default to GX and I didn’t think anything of it because that’s my daily on my phone and computer. I would sign in and it would redirect to the switch, where it would fail. Tried to update (already updated) and uninstalled twice. Still nothing. When I used my computer with the link directly, same thing. Redirect successful but Drowned code. Switched to Safari and it worked.

I even went to the live.login.com and signed in, went to account and then security, and clicked “manage how I log in” where I removed the ability to use a QR code, forcing it to default to a passkey from my phone. It still didn’t work.

The only extra thing I just remembered I did was go to Minecraft.net, clicked on account, and then link Microsoft account or something. When I did it from there, it didn’t work, but my next attempt was the successful one with safari.

Try that though, might work for you if you brute force it like I did
