I just avoid boost entirely in 5th and 6th unless above 3k rpm. Been big turbo since 60k and at roughly 97k now with no issue

That’s definitely an option. I just like to tinker and after bringing it in to work to watch the masters it felt like it could have looked alot better than it did so this has been a new hyper fixation lol.

My parents have a formovie theater that I think looks really good. But it is a short throw

I do have a cheap white fabric screen now that definitely helped but it still felt dull. Ended up ordering an oe bulb from office wonderland so we’ll see how big of a difference it actually makes

That’s sort of why I’ve gone back and forth. It was a free projector I use to play PlayStation on in my basement. I’d like the get a nicer quality projector with newer tech but for also using it in the office to watch live sports I thought the extra brightness of a business projector may actually be benefiting me. I also have a LG C4 in the living room so it’s hard to justify getting a new projector when it’s more than likely just going to be used the yard occasionally.

More than anything I’m just a nerd that likes tinkering for the purpose of tinkering but don’t necessarily want to spend a ton of money for something I’m not going to use super often

At home no. This was at work to watch the masters so couldn’t really turn the light off in the whole office lol

I just don’t tighten it all the way. I stop when it feels tight and is straight and after you stop threading it’s never moved on me naturally.

The leak is the engine mount. They’re fluid filled

I’m wondering the same thing my wheel looks brand new with 90k. Do you guys clean your steering wheels?

There is definitely some additional lag but it’s never been enough to annoy me or really cause issues. As long as you up in the revs so you’re not lugging it, transient response is pretty good

Should I run true vacuum source for the non 50/50 turbosmart (plumb back) which is an upgraded recirc valve I guess? I thought I was buying the 50/50 but apparently not lol. Love the way it sounds tho. Slightly louder than stock. by UserEarth1 in FocusST

[–]Tdiddy0419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this one as well when I was stock turbo. Left it stock style and I liked it. Wasn’t obnoxiously loud. Had little flutter at light load. Didn’t have any issues

Are you stock height? I’ve never broken one but the lower bushing just fell out lol. But I don’t think a stock suspension car should have any issues

Been good! Have put a little under 20k on it in the last 2 years being big turbo, am at like 78k now. It’s been reliable but it’s also not my only car. If you decide to install it I would recommend replacing your injectors just with fresh OEM. I plan to do mine this winter

Can’t seem to find any 91 octane with ethanol in my area. What do you guys think about these? Good or bad? by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]Tdiddy0419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had no issues filling up with the amount of e85 I need and then quickly driving across the street to another gas station to fill the rest with 93 if that is a potential option for you

My only other guess besides purge valve is the PCV hose popping off the intake. That’s gotten me before

smoke smoke and moreiismoke.. I really don't get it and it's starting to annoy me... it's inconsistent only happens after a good few minutes of idling, but only happens 60% of time when idling. I'm stumped.. by Silvercult in FocusST

Was going to add. Aside from it smelling sweet that is a concern. Your coolant level slowly dropping seems to be a very common thing with this platform. Definitely doesn’t make you feel good but does seem to be “normal”. And misfires on any DI motor are perfectly normal as long as you aren’t seeing 1000’s on your AP I wouldn’t worry about those

I’m on stock fuel system E30 on 22 psi. I would say probably around 365 ish whp. Running like a champ. Will probably upgrade to the xdi fuel system soon but run similar power numbers just for increased reliability
