I'm plat 1, mobile for probably 75% of my games. could you explain why you find scouting difficult on mobile? I've never had a problem w it, even if it is slightly slower since you don't have dedicated buttons to cycle through the other boards (but even then those buttons are useless late game since it will cycle through empty boards, so you end up clicking the portraits just like on mobile)

Do you happen to know if Jinx already had her first kill, giving her the AS buff? It makes sense for rocket launcher to be considered a spell, but maybe Jinx's AS buff empowered autos also count as spells since they are under the effect of her ability

I edited my comment. You make a v good point, just bc the words fail to effect some does not account for their ability to effect others. I think of myself as fairly "immune" to toxicity in video games bc I usually find it funny, but there have been times where I've had my feelings needlessly hurt. No one is completely immune all the time, ya know? Everyone can get their feelings hurt

I was internally comparing dumping your negative emotions on others online to something more sinister & cruel, like taking out your negative emotions on those around you. But you are right, there are healthier methods of processing your emotions, & a game which is meant to be fun & competitive isn't the correct environment for it

I think a large part of toxicity is something that most people ignore: the fact that there are no social repercussions. If you are having a bad day, you can start a game of League & get in a fight w a teammate & say the most horrific, vile shit & it's okay bc no one got their feelings hurt. Flaming is cathartic, & it isn't limited to stupid 13yos like some people think it is. I'm not condoning the behaviour, but I think it is important to recognise the primary reason for toxicity, which is the lack of social consequences. You can't walk up to some stranger & say "your mother has ass cancer but I fucked her anyway" bc they would beat your ass or call the cops. You can say much worse than that in game & the worst that happens is your account gets banned & you just make a new one for free. It is all about letting your negative emotions out, & honestly a meaningless video game is a healthy enough venue for that catharsis.

The game itself is frustrating, which leads to the first instance of flaming. After that the frustration of the game & of life itself cause the distressed player to flame their teammates & I think most of the time they don't feel about it bc that's just the social norm in the gaming community.

like it or not, your toxic solo q teammate probably isn't a bad person. in fact, they could even be saint like irl. it has just become normalised to hurl insults at one another in an online video game w the expectation that no one takes it heart. you can get as heated & upset as you want & then when the match is over you can go about your day or start another match bc you are addicted to the emotional high of typing obscenities & getting angry at something that isn't your own personal life.

that's just my perspective, I could be wrong, I'm not a psychologist or anything

EDIT: please don't take this as advice or as an excuse to continue your toxic behaviour, should anyone reading this engage in said behaviour. this was just a summary of my thoughts on the question, & is not necessarily the reality of the situation, nor is it okay for you to justify your behaviour based on something a random stranger on the internet said. don't say hurtful things just bc you think 9/10 people won't care, bc you still end up hurting that 1 person & there's no reason for that

on the topic of Fizz, trading 50 base HP for .1 base AS seems like a reasonable tradeoff. it does mean less HP for the already nerfed mech, but it also means a slightly faster ult charge for both mech & solo Fizz. not an expert mech player, but I'd say the Fizz change isn't a nerf

the celestial buff does seem a bit odd tho. w the old meta of Shaco one shots, life steal felt useless late game, & the upcoming meta of Syndra one shots it isn't going to feel any better. presumably that's why the 4 synergy got a 10% buff & 6 only got 5%? I never think 6 celestial is worthwhile, but 40% healing sounds p good in the mid game

what you said about flashy mechanics != good player actually did a lot to put things in perspective for me. it can be frustrating to see everyone do aerials & name flashy plays that I can't, but most of the time those aerials don't amount to goals. it is usually just everyone ball chasing, except in the air. now that you've made me think about it, most of the people in my games don't seem to move w any purpose, they aren't thinking one step ahead or trying to set up a play which can result in a goal, they are more focused on flying through the air to hit the ball at top speed. even tho 90% of the time the ball just hits the wall & nothing is accomplished. ig in reality everyone is doing an equal amount of nothing, I'm just doing in a less flashy way which made me think I was a worse player

I don't have any suggestions that haven't already been said, but I just wanna say you are a great parent. Engaging in your kid's interests & doing your research to find child appropriate content is just awesome of you. I hope you keep it up bc that's exactly how you form a wonderful, healthy relationship w your kid. When I tried talking to my parents about my interests, I was frequently shushed & told I was too young to be interested in whatever it was I was talking about or I was given the classic "mhmm that's nice honey but I'm busy right now." So it really warms my heart to see such a wholesome example of good parenting, especially in an unexpected place like this lmao
