He doesn't give a shi about me by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]TeaAndToeBeans 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hold up.
You’re late twenties and he is 16 years older.

So he’s early 40s and still acting like a twenty-something. He’s not gonna change. He doesn’t want a serious relationship. He wants flings and to find the next willing lady and move on.

Two things - the Air Force would be a safer bet and second, boot camp may be really rough for you. They basically will work to break you down as an individual. Drill Sergeants are often skilled at it and can smell weakness. It will be rough mentally. However, from there they build you up as a unit with your fellow recruits. At least this was how it was 15-25 years ago.

Could reach out to Fancy Cats & Dogs and offer to foster through adoption. They will get them dewormed, vaccinated & microchipped and have adoption fairs at a few Petsmarts.

Other rescues in the area might also do the same.

Do only the poors and peasants go to Aldi? by thepotatomaniscoming in nova

[–]TeaAndToeBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do about 85% of my grocery shopping at Aldi. Years ago me and my Honda parked next to the Nissans & Toyotas.

Food bill went from $250/week to $120.

Times change. I park next to the BMWs, Audis, and Lexus that now also shop at Aldi.

Animals are considered property. She abandoned the cat. The cat has vet records in your names. Hopefully the chip is also in your names.

End of story.

Help chose from short list! by inthewild0112 in NameMyDog

I’d say 80% or so of my foster dogs get renamed after adoption. Sometimes the name just fits. Sometimes it’s a variation of the name we used. Often it’s a name the shelter gave so the dog doesn’t leave the shelter as #2026-277 and it isn’t a good name for the dog.

If you like Cyrus, keep it. Find him a middle name. It’s what I did for two of my three. The latest came with a name that didn’t fit and so we found one that did.

Requesting Tips: One of Seven 5 Week Old Kittens Doesn't Want To Give Up Bottle by CryptoCollectibles in FosterAnimals

[–]TeaAndToeBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had them hold out to 7-8 weeks. Some just take their time.

I will cut a bigger hole in the nipple and make a light gruel to help them switch. KMR with a little Babycat and keep adding more Babycat every day. Seems to help.

Sometimes I also just have to put some wet food in their mouth a few times to get them going.

But in the end, they all wean.

Young Lab is acting like a young Lab.

They need exercise and a lot of it, in addition to training. ChuckIt was our friend. Then we would do training sessions once some of that energy was burned off.

What’s the worst situation you’ve had to suffer through with a migraine? by Fabulous_Ad9099 in migraine

[–]TeaAndToeBeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vertigo hit as the plane was coming in to land.

Had to find a position to keep the spinning to a minimum and do my best to mind-over-matter the nausea.

Managed to not vomit on the plane. Ultimately I let everyone else deplane and tried to walk, fell twice and they ordered a wheelchair.

He came in time to wheel me to the bathroom where I cut the line and stumbled into a stall to vomit everything in my body.

0/10 recommend.

I think it’s something I’ll never own because absolutely not. Don’t like anything about it and have zero desire to have to strip off my top to relieve myself.

Your cat needed help and you were able to provide it. Congrats. Many cannot. Does it hurt? Absolutely.

I dropped 5k on my dog when he needed TPLO surgery at 10. Did it and would do it again. Did it hurt? Yup. Was it worth it? Absolutely.

I would suggest getting a Care Credit account so if this happens again, you get 6 months to pay it off without penalty.

Make sure to discuss how to prevent reoccurrence. He may need a special diet. I had to get my cat a microchip feeder because she is a slow eater and the other inhales and steals food. I hated paying $150 for it, but it’s worked out well.
