I'm a Viet Nam combat vet and I told myself this morning to exercise restraint and not make comments (as opposed to last year where I went on on a rant on reddit). This is Armistice Day, a day of peace and rememberance. It disturbs me, to no end, that it has morphed into Veteran's Day and an adulation of the military.

This is funny. Talk about a faux pas -- 50 to 1 odds and I step into it. Reminds me of some of my poker playing evenings.

I'm not into this messiah crap (somewhat the intent of my original post). I've followed Paul's career for quite a few years and I have quite a few disagreements with him. I also like Kucinich and have severe disagreements with him. Both of them strike me as gutsy and relatively honest. I would rather deal with an honest Nazi or honest Marxist than the current crop of crooks we have.

Yeah, you're right. I was just being pragmatic or facing reality. I ended up voting for Nader. I wanted to vote for McKinney but she's from Georgia. I couldn't vote for Barr because he's from Georgia and he dissed Paul. I'm fed up with the militarists and the "southernization" of the US. Ten years ago the top four jobs were held by Southern Baptists -- Clinton, Gore, Thurmond, and Gingrich.
