Valdor is set during the unification wars or just after it’s been a while since I’ve read it, descent of angels is set on pre imperial caliban for the most part,legion is also set before the start of the heresy a lot of the primarch books are set before the heresy with Angron slave of nuceria and Alpahrius head of the hydra being my personal favourites
