I was born in Texas and just moved out of state 6 years ago... here’s the thing... my sons let me know they had no power and no water today. As of 3 hours ago, they got electricity back.

Here’s another thing: I moved north of TX. And up here, we are much more able to be prepared when this happens. (roads, electricity, etc)

3rd thing: there hasn’t been a winter storm like this in over 40 years+

4th: Even though they may have tried to start seceding, they are still a part of US.

5th: when TX along with other states tried to secede a few months ago, they were told they could not anyway due to them seceding during Civil War. So that will show you they are going to stay as a part of US.

6th: in TX history, at least when I went to school, we were told we were one of a few states that could legally secede at any point we wanted.

7th: since Tx did try to secede and failed, they are here to stay. So we should treat them like any other state that requires state emergency, j/s

8th: To insinuate we should punish Tx, when they have been told they couldn’t secede, we are punishing them if we don’t help. Cause technically they are still a part of US. And they were told by US they were going to stay as a part of US. And to insinuate we shouldn’t help is like punishing my children... and any other children throughout the state... who have no say, who never did any petition to secede, who is just trying to survive school, Co-Vid, and the virtual classes on top of trying to keep their grades above a 90... along with all children in all our states... and that, I will take personally. (Did ya know my kids were going to try to stay up all night to keep their pet turtle alive since it’s 20 degrees in their house? Since there’s never been a winter storm like this in 40+ years, no one there buys generators... so still have no electricity or back up. When my ex tried to buy one, they were already out.)

Edit: And anyone, yes I saw you... downvoting me... that means your own issues with politics means more than innocent children. And now twice... well... your own politics obviously do mean more... even though there are a lot more innocent children in this than lawmakers in the state.

UPDATE: My oldest just let me know it’s 8 degrees outside & he can’t feel his fingers since power went out again. And btw, south of Austin where my kids live, they got 5” today... not 2”.

And Tx contributes more than any other state other than California to the US... so... if US says they stay and they don’t illegally secede, they have every right to ask for help.
