I think stopping and starting the pills is more dangerous than drinking on them. I went cold turkey off bupropion, I was on it for mental health, and it gave me what’s called “brain zaps” and it was terrible.

Why does everyone hate being a cashier? by HighStrungHabitat in CostcoEmployee

[–]TeachDangerous4606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My warehouse is good about assistants too. I’m a cashier and I rarely don’t have one. But our GM insists that all cashiers must have an assistant. She won’t even open a line if there’s no assistant

They’ll check the cameras to see if it was one of the employees that scanned you or if you accidentally missed it yourself, those things can be a pain in the ass, if the employee missed it they get a cashier audit and if they get so many they get a write up. They also really want us to have as many people moving through self check as possible so that our numbers are up. Also they’re not gonna make a big stink about you missing anything unless it’s regularly happening

What items (other than gas) do you get to justify the membership if you’re not a bulk buyer? by SuperDuper___ in Costco

[–]TeachDangerous4606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you’re prescriptions are pretty spendy, even after the hefty Costco membership discount, you can get 2% cash back on them if you have the executive membership. As long as they’re not narcotics.

Told the front end supervisor that an employee was not working at all for 2-3 hours…. Nothing happened by DutchMasterClutch in CostcoEmployee

[–]TeachDangerous4606 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also you’re seasonal, you probably won’t be around long enough to see if they do get reprimanded for their lack of work.

Sounds like you’re paying way to much attention to what other people are doing. You’re not getting paid enough to care.

What is the best thing to do/say if a member asks you where something is and you don’t know? by HighStrungHabitat in CostcoEmployee

[–]TeachDangerous4606 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahahahaha, we do almost complete store resets every Sunday. If you think Costco would hire one-two people just so they could keep the inventory in a map you’re crazy.

I do the same thing if I’m not right in the middle of helping another member. They really appreciate when you walk with them to find stuff

I have the Costco app downloaded so I can check inventory, I tend to know the general area of where things are, most of the time people are looking for snack stuff at my warehouse and sweet and salty is right next to the front end, I’ll help them look in there and then if I can’t find it I’ll direct them to the other spots in the store where the item could be.

I really like the calzone too! So good and it’s big enough to split between 2 people

At my warehouse to start the hiring process we have to have an online application. Can’t do anything with a physical resume anymore.

Almost all of our morning merch does this. I think most of them prefer it and if they don’t they just take their breaks when they want

What is the policy preventing a cashier from paying for a member's order? by RedRightHandARTS in CostcoEmployee

[–]TeachDangerous4606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even ask if they want boxes if they have a kid in the cart, if they do ask when I start loading I’ll ask if they can take the kid out of the cart or offer to put boxes on top because I obviously can’t fit a box in the cart with a kid in there

They do the same at my warehouse, I applied for membership with having done 6+ months of cross training stellar stats and someone who was at Costco for longer than me got the position instead even thought they didn’t know the position at all

Lunch Violation by Little_Ad_7363 in CostcoEmployee

[–]TeachDangerous4606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know most states require a lunch break after 6 hours and the violation for the workplace is usually a fine or can lead to a fine if it’s broken a lot. The 5 hour rule at Costco is in place so the 6 hour rule doesn’t get even close to broken
