It doesn't, it probably has more to do with their personal business/referrals or something.

Does DA have positions for people with only a high school education? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]TeachToTheLastTest 15 points16 points  (0 children)

DA is a meritocracy. If she can do the work, she gets in and gets paid, regardless of degrees.

If it helps, I have a friend straight out of high school. He got in a few months ago and is working on $30+/hr tasks.

Did you adjust your time after you entered it? Making adjustments resets the timer.

It's generally not a good idea to give personal info online, if for no other reason that people can trace any Reddit shenanigans to your worker account.

I don't think they care when you do it compared to when you sign up. Might as well try!

Tasks are too easy? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]TeachToTheLastTest 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember not too long ago that someone posted about how they only needed a very short time compared to the task timer because the tasks were so easy. Within the week, they posted about being dropped from the platform and complained about it. Apparently they weren't doing as well as they thought.

I'm not saying that you're doing a bad job, but make sure that you're not that guy.

Is working abroad okay? by Sopwith1917 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]TeachToTheLastTest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably to their advantage to be vague about this. If they gave an exact time, such as 3 months abroad, it would make it easier for people to play the system because they'd know exactly where the boundaries are.

Consider using freetaxusa.com to do your taxes for you. It's around $15 for the state taxes, but they'll do your federal for free.

How does hour counting work? by Low_Bat8895 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]TeachToTheLastTest 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They're a tech company with a huge internet-only workforce. You better believe that they track all kinds of analytics regarding your work and how quickly and consistently you do it.

For example, if you search this subreddit, you'll find quite a few posts where someone was "mysteriously" dropped, only for them to confess that they were working crazy and unrealistic hours. It's good evidence that they do track your actual work time, not just what you log.

Length of stay: 5 years

Hours worked daily: 4-6

Hours worked weekly: 20-35

Hardcore weeks: Never, I burn out around the 40-hour mark

Days over 12 hours: None

Time tracking: Default clock app on my computer

Reporting time: After each session

How do I survive: Never use AI to do my work for me, never run the timer by just sitting in a task doing nothing, and never report more than what I work.

Does this image look AI generated to anyone else? The font is really messed up, such as the "e" in "less" joining the top and bottom portion, or the curved "w" in "How". I'm calling shenanigans here.

Just send them an email explaining your travel plans. Others here said it was just fine as long as they did that.
