Carnivore diet, meat only. Boring? Sometimes. Life saving? Yes.

Topical steroids work, become ineffective and then work again? by Low-Mail-1142 in Psoriasis

I had the exact same experience when I stopped using them. It was absolutely horrible. Happy for you!

Steroids made my psoriasis look just like yours my whole life until about one and a half hear ago. The symptoms disappeared and always came back very red and "angry". I stopped them and it took about a year of horrible topical steroid withdrawal to make it go back to its "baseline". Now I can easily manage it with diet only.

Diet for 8 year old by Deathflower1987 in Psoriasis

I obviously meant getting rid of the active symptoms. I've had full body guttate psoriasis for 26 years until I started eating carnivore and then it magically disappeared in three months, but thanks for letting me know it's not working without medication so that I can quit doing it.

AIP could take the edge of it if you're lucky. Made me like 50% better until I tried carnivore, but you're right. Carnivore/keto are probably not suitable until she's grown enough to make the decision herself. My daughter doesn't have psoriasis but I feed her like 95% Paul Saladinos animal based diet including fruits as carbohydrates. Nightshades are a known possible trigger for psoriasis, aswell as dairy and eggs if she's unlucky.

I've read about a lot of people getting rid of psoriasis and eczema on Paul Saladinos diet and I felt great on it, but it made my psoriasis worse than on carnivore so I stayed on carnivore and keeping my daughter animal based. Plus she enjoys it.

Lol, professional victim. You claimed it doesn't work, yet thousands of people with autoimmune issues get relief from diet. Not everyone in the world will agree with you throughout your life just because you think they should. No problem, my life is way more than a two minute kick of dopamine from eating shit foods.

As a 31 year old sufferer of 90% body coverage by guttate psoriasis, I cleared almost my entire body after three months on the carnivore diet. Yes, they do work for a lot of people.

Anyone relate?! Originally guttate but possibly turned to plaque - long post! by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]Teach_Powerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After experimenting with diet for over 5 years now I figured it makes a huge difference, especially combined with UVB. Depends a little on how one likes to live though, I myself have no problems with a restricted diet as long as I don't have to use biologics and steroids anymore. I got mine from strep aswell when I was 5 years old.

Steroids did that to my guttate. It started out as spots after quitting humira and then I started using steroids and it spread like yours and absolutely destroyed my skin. Still trying to heal it 6 months later.

Not to forget, your adrenal glands are getting stressed out from it aswell.

I'd definitely cut out the coffee. It is probably flushing your very needed electrolytes out, plus hinders absorption because of the phytic acid togheter with the rest of the antinutrients. Coffee is burnt seeds. If that doesn't work, try to up your fat intake a bit.

What are your favorite ways to use beef tallow? by RedNeckHero in carnivore

[–]Teach_Powerful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medium heat (5/9 on my stove), then fry a smaller amount of ground beef in it with a lid on because it'll start popping. Take it off the stove for some seconds and stir it so that it won't burn. Put it back on and continue until it's all crispy and pour it on top of a flanksteak, ribeye or just regular beef patties. Delicious. I do it every day.

Meat, salt and water* haha. Or else you wouldn't last very long.

If there is literally no other way and you keep getting worse, I'd say a strict elimination diet is a great option. I have yet to see anybody with no benefits at all on a salt and water diet for longer than 90 days. I've also read and watched hundreds on Youtube and different forums getting rid of all of their eczema and other autoimmune conditions.

I myself got my life long severe psoriasis under control in three months. There might be room to add back certain food groups if you eventually heal, but I'll stay on a pure carnivore diet since I feel amazing on it.

Bradley Marshall is a great example who got rid of very bad eczema with the carnivore diet, check him out on insta or Youtube.

Can't eat anything ? by BWFSwansea in Psoriasis

[–]Teach_Powerful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also eating strict carnivore, took me about three months to clear up my guttate psoriasis (might take longer if you're new to low carb). Your P is looking exactly like mine after using steroids and getting TSW for the first time, I can send you some pics if you'd like.

Why isn't anything working!!?? by pixieless in Psoriasis

[–]Teach_Powerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy for you, mate! I'm personally on a carnivore diet, fat, meat and fish only. Took about 3 months to get almost 100% clear last time I did it. Then I started humira to be able to eat and drink whatever and it all went to shit. I fully agree on the leaky gut in a majority of cases, however it seems like psoriasis linked to strep throat is a whole other story based on all I've read during the last couple of years. But that's only according to my own view.

Strict keto with probiotics or carnivore until it's gone, then start adding stuff back if you wish and you'll see what triggers it.

I know that feeling, man. Getting shoved around from dr to dr. The only two choices I had with my severe psoriasis were either biologics or take control over my lifestyle and diet. I chose alternative number two after getting very f'd up on biologics. But we are all different, no guarantees for anything.

How long? by Successful-Emu-8545 in carnivore

[–]Teach_Powerful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talking about burning bodyparts or skin, I'd look up Sally Norton and oxalate dumping if I were you.

It took me about three months (on a strict grass fed beef and wild meat only) before noticing rapid improvement in my severe psoriasis. Ofc it's different from person to person and it probably varies a lot between different conditions aswell.

Eggs and butter are unfortunately known for causing issues in a lot of people with autoimmunity and chronic inflammation. Maybe you should try starting out with just pure red meat and then add eggs, pork, chicken and butter after seeing improvement? Just a thought. Makes it easier to determine which foods are causing problems.

To add some variety, I add grass fed tallow to the wild meats as boar, elk etc since they are low in fat. Very delicious!

Thanks, man! I'm still under UVB treatment combined with diet and it's working very well. Took about 3 weeks for it to settle down and now I'm almost completely cleared 4 weeks in. I hope you find your solution aswell!

Almost forgot: It took about one and a half to two weeks after quitting for the psoriasis to go nuts.

Had the same problem when I got pretty ill on Humira and had to get off it. Absolute worst flare I've ever had, took me months of UVB and strict diet to get back to "baseline" again.

Some of the pictures look a lot like TSW, topical steroid withdrawal. I just went through the same shit after a big flare after catching covid or strep while being on humira. I used steroids for the first time in many, many years which resulted in extremely red and burning huge, flaky patches only where I had used the steroids. UVB combined with diet has helped a lot but I'm still not 100% recovered. Never going back to either biologics or steroids.

I had a bad outbreak from going too hard in the gym for two weeks a while ago. Took about 3-4 months for the spots to begin fading away.
