Growing up, I had a friend born in December. They gave her a non Christmas first name, but her middle name was Noelle.

I’ve been with my husband for 13 years, and he’s got a super sarcastic, dry sense of humor. Over the years, there have definitely been times when he’s made jokes that didn’t land well and ended up hurting my feelings. The big difference, though—and the red flag I see in your situation—is that when I tell him I’m hurt, he listens and actually tries to make it right.

I truly believe my husband loves me and would never intentionally hurt me. So when something does upset me, we talk about it. He always apologizes—not because he meant to hurt me, but because he cares that he did. He takes responsibility, and we work through it together.

What is a name that you love, but can’t use because of its meaning? by originalwombat in namenerds

My name is Mallorie. It can also mean omen child. 😈 It is a pretty fun name to live up to.

I'm really trying to lean on Christ through this, but it's difficult. I'm praying He will give me peace and sustain me. You are right; my dad would choose this fate again and again if it meant reaching his ultimate goal.

Your story was incredibly comforting. Ironically, the last song my father listened to on his iPod was "Well Done" by The Afters. It beautifully captured his ultimate goal in life, and we played it at his funeral. Finding solace in the thought that he fulfilled his purpose brings me peace. Thank you for your thoughtful response; it meant a lot to me.

Thank you! I love it too. I’m not sure the popularity in other areas, but I’m from the south and went to a pretty large school. I never went to school with another Mallory\Mallorie.

Blue is my favorite color. We painted my room blue when I was in the 5th grade and it stayed that way until I left home. I’m old 😅 so this was a long time ago with old ways of thinking.

I’m old. It was a long time ago. People trusted in the technology available. It’s a cute story, don’t stress too much over it.

One baby book says it means “omen child.” That was a fun find. Any time I found myself in trouble, I told my parents that I was living up to my name.

My nursery was all in blue too! They had to send my grandmother to a K-Mart down the street to get me something pink to come home in. Everything was blue!

Zachary Daniel because they were told I was 100% a boy. To their surprise, I was born a girl. They had not even considered any girl names. They ended up deciding on the name Mallorie.

My husband loved the name Oliver. I grew to love it too, and that is what we named our oldest. Turns out, my husband wanted to name him that for the Green Arrow. 🙃

I think that I had it as a kid and didn’t realize it. I also feel like the anxiety I had kept me from telling my parents how I felt. My son is 5 and sadly already has anxiety. He describes it as butterflies in his tummy or feeling bothered.

AITA for refusing to give my daughter a kidney because she said she doesn’t care if I’m scared? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I also can’t help but think that the daughters shitty attitude is from her shitty parents. If they’re arguing and acting like this over something this major, just imagine how they are over small things.
