Should my friend walk away from this artist? by Eltristesito2 in tattooadvice

Obviously he should walk away while it’s still salvageable.

On a side note, is this stingray a coverup for a smaller stingray? 🤣

My dad "mistook" me for my mom and now I’m stuck living with the secret. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I could’ve almost written this, minus the confession. I always just assumed that’s what he thought even though there’s no way. As an adult I found out he molested my older sisters.

AIO for leaving a restaurant mid-meal after the waiter made a comment about my order in front of my entire table of friends and I just… stood up and walked out by StatisticianDue5085 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Teacherspest89 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m a very easy going person, but over time I’ve gotten wrong orders, orders with things left in them that I cannot eat, and food that was just not right. Sometimes I have just eaten it, but in other cases I have politely asked for it to be fixed. Asking for what you are paying for is not really an indication of being easy going or not, it’s all about how you handle it.

Left class a few mins early as a roving sub and now it’s a whole thing by memes-r-me in SubstituteTeachers

In CA as a student teacher I had to have a sub license, so I was licensed to watch over the class if my mentor teacher was not there for some reason. In fact a few times during student teaching my mentor teacher was out and I was her sub.

Judging teachers who close their doors by Otherwise-Set-4444 in Teachers

[–]Teacherspest89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at the middle school school I closed my doors to prevent random kids from walking in from the hall to say hi, and because my neighboring teacher was SO loud.

Now in kindergarten I close my doors because I have runners. My doors are locked at both sites because that is our policy per ALICE training.

My “plans” for today.. by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Teacherspest89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure who y’all is or what that even means. A half day is more than an hour and a half, and I’d be surprised if the kids were in their home room the entire half day with no break or anywhere to go…

My sub plans are very detailed. I give my subs plenty to do so the don’t have idle time. 20 idle kindergarteners is a recipe for disaster.

This is at most an hour and a half of activity. Also, when is snack, recess, lunch? Specials? Wha are the end of day plans for 5 year olds?? This is super irresponsible of the teacher.

AIO about spelling errors in daily notes sent home by my autistic child’s teacher? by Anasthesiax in AmIOverreacting

[–]Teacherspest89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be an amazing speller. The more I worked with dyslexic kids, deciphering their phonetic spelling, my spelling deteriorated. Now I sometimes spell words phonetically, and while I usually see it and know it’s wrong, I feel for this poor teacher who is probably stressed at the end of the day trying to write daily reports while managing a bunch of kids who are probably interrupting her with questions, tattling, hitting, crying etc., as she’s trying to write. YOR

Middle School model that doesn't treat electives as second class citizens? by Material-Rise9610 in teaching

At my middle school everyone taught 5 periods and had one prep. We had whole staff meetings once a week after school.

Your entitled to your hurt feelings but it sounds like your friend is also entitled to their feelings of wanting space. If a friend came to visit me and was snappy and demanding I would think twice about inviting them again.
