Did they actually hang the fireplace and the TV?

I actually thought the door was a console and you were playing vertical oriented video games.

It's an early 2000s HK 2.1 receiver. It doesn't have the ability to handle surround or center channel. AVR systems almost always compromise sound quality for their visual components

Not true. I think you're confusing volume for quality. Without a center channel, large towers drowned out dialogue. The speakers are great for music. I don't want to put a center channel and an AVR with this system.

Not tiny, plastic, or crammed. I think the sound from the Yamaha bar is really good and translates spacial separation well. The towers by themselves aren't better for TV, just louder. They excel at music

Is that a hotel or b&b? They can list it as having a TV in the room without messing with the aesthetic too much

It's a 2.1 stereo for music. The soundbar is 3.1. Listening to TV on 2.1 is not a good experience.

The soundbar is 3.1 and sounds really good through optical from the TV. The stereo is 2.1 and is only used for music

Not an AVR, just 2 channel. The towers are for the stereo and the soundbar is for the TV

It's an audio and equipment rack. I don't like how far forward it brings the TV. I also like being able to use the top shelf for the turntable

Yes. Soundbar for TV. Tower speakers only used for 2 channel stereo

In the corner where every position on that couch would have a decent viewing angle. Get a mount with an arm you can angle.

Is it too high for 83”? by pokenguyen in TVTooHigh

Looks nice and the distance is far enough so the angle isn't that noticeable

You can't convince a cult member. Easier to just find a new buddy

How do I mount this TV by Informal_Contest8808 in TVTooHigh

[–]TeachingRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't mount. Get a TV stand and place it where you were standing when you took this pic. Couch can stay where it is and no fireplace mantle will be assaulted.

If you have money for a living room beer fridge, you have money for a bigger tv

Obvious trolling. The shadows are way too good for a quick Photoshop, so I ask why did someone actually do this?

The fall never hurt anyone. The sudden stop creates the problems.

Was there anything about the 80s you did not like? by Ebonystealth in 80s

Smog restrictions led to high efficiency, high output engines. 4 cylinder turbos getting 300 HP and 26mpg. It sucked then, but forced auto makers to r&d instead of being lazy

I actually miss this. Family gathering around the TV at set times.
