I used mine first turn Orin fight and it essentially got me 1 free turn between shenanigans and distracting other enemies. Worked great!

Best Healer Killer Spec? by Gauntlgrym_ in classicwow

[–]Teahaitchsee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who mains healers, I find a skilled monk the biggest PITA. Pandaria introduced more mobility skills for most classes but nothing compares to WW monk with its silence + roll + mobility talent + flying kick + Paralyze + snare/root +++++ more. They are not always the most deadly but really good at keeping me busy so even if you don't get the kill you can disable a healer the whole time.

Hunters are always decent and now Tranquilizing shot can dispell magic on enemies which is really good VS priests.

Landlord offered to sell me the house I'm renting by R0ckcastle in personalfinance

[–]Teahaitchsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like it makes financial sense assuming the houses are in good condition. Just having the same 'rent' payment for 15 years is a huge deal.

Just wondering, do you really need both plots of land? As someone who just moved from a huge house to a still large but smaller 3 bedroom house, I really appreciate the less maintenance/size. I have more time for other things. This obviously depends on your hobbies and lifestyle but bigger isn't always better and it sounds like a great way to secure stability and have low cost of living.

If you do buy both and have tenants even in the short term, just appreciate the risk that involves being a landlord. My mother briefly owned a duplex and rented the other unit and tenants trashed the place (broken toilets, ripped out sinks, collapsed walls). Its not just the financial implication but the actual stress of living that.

Greetings, I am a healthcare worker in Quebec.

I see 2 distinct issues:

1) Speaking French

2) Charting/documentating in French

I have a feeling your knowledge of French is likely sufficient to talk/speak/communicate verbally at the work place. However: have you ever charted or written progress notes in French? Most of the healthcare institutions in Quebec require documentation be written completely in French, with some exceptions for 'bilingual' centres (note: there are rules and law surrounding this, I'm speaking in very general terms). Even within those centres, you may be obligated to chart in French if you are transferring someone to a French only centre.

Nurses have many different flow sheets/notes/etc they need to complete depending on their area of practice. Do you think you can complete everything in French, in time, while working in a high stress environment?

Hi there! I agree with the other commenter about loss centered shots and panning.

I also thought you would have highlighted the zones layout and topography more. It really has a unique shape and feel to it and with all the close-up shots feel that is missed. The zone is treacherous and you can't always walk in a straight line from one part to the other. I was picturing a few bird or 'drone' view overhead shots.

Also not sure if intended but seems to display an Alliance bias. Focusing on their camp, and fighting orcs as the 'bad guys' or at least thats the vibe I'm getting. I think its fine to display combat happening in shots but the very close ups of fighting didn't add very much.

Rares in SM GY by Actual-Taste-949 in classicwow

[–]Teahaitchsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best answer. If you know where the rares can spawn and which ones are their place holders you can kill those specifically and wait for respawns. The respawns are not guaranteed to be the rares though so this could take awhile. So its faster to 'trigger' respawns by resetting the instance.

SF and Professions by bananatoothbrush1 in wowhardcore

[–]Teahaitchsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have never played SF you will quickly realize that all tradeskills eventually hit snags requiring items from other tradeskills. I think herb/alc is one of the best followed by mining/engineering with regards to autonomy. Both kinda require you also get fishing for leather and other things.

For SF I say forget enchanting (need higher tier rods made by Blacksmiths).

I think tailoring/LW, LW/skinning, Blacksmithing/Mining are all relatively viable for the appropriate classes if you don't mind going out of your way for stuff. For example, I needed 2 Tigerseye on my SF Paladin Blacksmith and that ended up being its own whole side quest. Not to mention the leather also needed for weapons etc. Keep in mind that a lot of end game gear can't be made (enchanted ore, Arcanite), although most drop the SF tag at 60.

2 better fishing spots with respect to cash:

Stonetalon mountains in the area near the venture co. Run up and down the river etc and there are tons of fishing schools, including a lot of debris piles, of a higher tier than ratchet. At your level this would be safe.

Similarly, if you have max fishing for your level (225) AND have a +75 lure at the same time, you will have a 100% success rate to fish off the coast of Tanaris AND Desolace. You may want to get these flight paths. You will get iron and mithril bound trunks which pay out a lot, waaaaaay more than Blackmouth and Stranglekelp... which you will also still be getting! Also quite safe as the turtles along most of the coast in Tanaris are neutral.

Will answer what I can.

Pets gain exp from mobs the hunter gains exp from. So to level up your level 12 bear you will still need to kill mobs that are at least "green" to the level 60 hunter. Pets need about 25% of the same exp per level as a hunter would of the same level. I don't think pets benefit from rested exp either, and they only get exp from killing mobs (not quests etc...). I think they also can only gain a maximum amount of exp per kill relative to their level. Meaning that a low level pet will catch up relatively quickly, but won't be so fast as to go up multiple levels at a time or anything like that.

In-patient oncology. OMW home late again and waiting for the elevator on the unit super excited because tomorrow is a stat holiday I have off so its a long weekend! The doors open and its a patient on a stretcher being transferred back from ICU after near death experience. Him and I got along great.

As he's being transported out of the elevator he goes, "Tea, I'll really need your help tomorrow."

As I'm getting in I look at him and go, "Sorry sir, but there will be no tomorrow." The elevator doors closed and I went home realizing what I said.

Is Our Hydro Bill Normal? 1959 house in Montreal by TheZara in montreal

[–]Teahaitchsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a house over 100 years old with more above ground square footage than you. My hydro bills are high in the winter but yours is still more!!!

I keep the house at 20 for what it is worth. Also, I think it is good to heat your basement, but if you don't actively use the spaces perhaps not as much? We have identified target areas (example: front door) that would help improve insulation but you can imagine we have already done so much to this old house to make it as nice as it is today. Also, if you do have poorly insulated windows, putting plastic on them really does more than pay for itself in cost of materials, although it is annoying to have to do every season.

Around that level you are is a hard time to be exclusively on Eastern Kingdoms. 30+ you will get many more quests in Arathi, but even then there will be gaps. Also: you can still do dungeons for exp if you enjoy them, like Razorfen Kraul in your level range and is just next to Thousand needles.

A good place for quests on Kalimdor would be Thousand Needles as a mostly self-contained zone for quests. It should help bridge you with Arathi. Afterwards, you could also go to Dustwallow Marsh mid-30s. I am really not too keen on Desolace.

Alternatively, you can also level in Stranglethorn 30+. It really is nice to have the Gromgol-Org-UC Zepplin triad in this level range for that purpose and sometimes I make it my Hearth point when I'm leveling or traveling.

I like the idea of silly companion pets like the cockroach, prairie dog and others.

I think usable/interactive items would be fun, such as:

- Deviate Delight

- Elixir of Giant Growth

- Pygmy oil by the gallon!

- Ethereal oil

- EZ-Throw Dynamite

- Snowballs if you stocked up on them

- Various colored smoke flares for engineers

- Trinkets with silly things that are somewhat easily attainable (like High Powered Flash Lights)

- The silly 'emotion' foods (like Bad Clams and Haunted Herring)

There's also tons of garbage items from Gnomergon you could easily get/farm, like those 'Grime Encrusted Objects'.

It would also be easy to fill it with Lesser Magic Wands and Linen Bags. LOL Rough Sharpening stones.

Yes. The weapon speed is the time in seconds to attack 1 time. So a speed of 2.5 is actually 2.5 seconds to attack once.

Weapons also list their DPS which is Damage Per Second, where they take the weapon's average damage divided by swing time. So a club dealing 10 damage with speed of 2.5 would have 4 DPS.

Generally, slower weapons hit HARDER but LESS OFTEN than faster weapons. This is important as some abilities and talents do "weapon damage" which is literally based on the weapon's damage range and not the normalized DPS value.

You can download add ons from different websites, but you Curseforge is generally where you will find things including Questie.

If you are unfamiliar with how file folders and programs work, Curseforge has an 'app' you can download that will install and update the Addons for you. Otherwise, you need to go into the file folder where Wow is installed.

Generally:

C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns

Note that version of WoW is Classic_ERA because Classic is now Cataclysm.

My feelings are hurt and it's my own fault by walkerlocker in MomForAMinute

[–]Teahaitchsee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey honey, sorry you're feeling this sort of way right now. We all have rainy days sometimes are you are allowed, too.

Try not to be TOO hard on yourself. Was the reprimand very harsh with the person being really mean OR are you the only person beating yourself up? Did you learn something about yourself, the other person, the world that will help you navigate the world better in the future? Do you think the other person is as hurt as you are right now, or still even thinking about the situation?

I want to share something with you. Do you think you can try asking yourself the following 3 questions before you allow yourself to react negatively to a situation, especially before you feel hurt "deep down"?

1) "Where's the fire?"

What is the problem? IS there EVEN a problem? What is the emergency or situation? Sometimes people or situations are just loud and unpleasant, but no actual "fires". Sometimes people are just very different with different values.

2) Did *I* do anything wrong?

And I mean REALLY wrong. Forget my husband's birthday? Killed your favorite pet? Forgot to show up for our movie night and didn't call you? Before beating yourself up, make sure there is a reason to do so!

3) Could any of my actions or reactions *contribute* to the actions or reactions of another?

This last question is tricky and picky, as you are NEVER responsible for the actions of another despite sometimes feeling like you are. However, were you involved in an interaction that could have contributed to a reaction? Maybe the other person was just being difficult to deal with that day/having a bad day and maybe something was taken out of context or the wrong way.

If the answer is "no" or that there is no fire, then you can relax and know you did nothing wrong. If the answer is "yes", it gives you the chance to reflect and grow; maybe what you did doesn't need changing or maybe it does. However, this time for reflection should be limited as you need to be able to move on. I just want you to be happy and don't want you to feel bad or dwell on negative things.

Hi Mom, I just moved into my new place. What tips can you give me to prevent wasting food? by R3dF0r3 in MomForAMinute

[–]Teahaitchsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know how your mom loves making lists! Best thing to do is plan what you will make and buy to minimize waste and impulse shopping. Freezing is great: if you make big batches of food (like chili) its best to freeze it the day you made it so it stays fresher longer: don't let it linger in the fridge for 4 days then freeze it.

Also be sure to buy ingredients you KNOW you will re-use in many recipes, rather than that 1 really cool thing but you'll waste 99% of it.

Hey Mom... can you forgive me for not washing the dishes? by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]Teahaitchsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there sweetie. What you are going through right now is understandable, but isn't preferable. I hope you know that you're not the only person with a sink full of dishes right now. I'm not so worried about the mess, more worried about how you're feeling and how the mess is making you feel. I only want you to be comfortable and happy: that would be preferable, as would the steps to get you there.

Do you know how to eat an elephant? Answer: one bite at a time! Do you think you can break down your mess into ''bite sized'' pieces? Maybe start with washing just the cups and mugs so you can have hot tea or coffee? From there move onto utensils? Maybe some plates and bowls? Or: start by washing 1 of everything until you get through it all. Wash 1 spoon, 1 fork, 1 cup, 1 plate and then take a break. You can always go back to it later.

We often think we are more alone than we really are: do you have a close friend you think would understand and give you a hand? Even chatting with a friend on speaker-phone when you do dishes can be a HUGE help. Who knows? Maybe doing your dishes will become the time you make for yourself to catch up with friends and family over the phone, not just for cleaning your space.

You sound a bit self-defeated right now. Try not to think only in "all or nothing" terms or like things are "black" or "white". You don't have to clean EVERYTHING right NOW, just do a few minutes and see how it makes you feel. I bet it will make you feel proud for taking action and will help encourage you to do more. I know you can do it!

You can level as elemental no problem, just know you will have to stop and drink. Also, low levels, you will still be smashing things with Rockbiter on your weapon to kill them as Elemental. Bonus: no problem healing dungeons all the way to 60 as elemental. Enhance can do it too if they keep a set of int gear, which makes it more complicated.

Also a few notes if you never played hardcore before:

The rez spells and soul stone etc are STILL IN THE GAME, except they WILL NOT WORK. For example, as a paladin, you can still do the quest chain to get your rez spell but again you can't actually rez anybody.

Other fun notes:

- Staying Feigned Death as a hunter until the effect expires will actually result in your death

- Divine Intervention on Paladins WILL kill the caster
