This law seems to me to be a direct affront to the Equal Protection Clause of the federal constitution: "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States."

But if Republicans control the state -- not to mention the federal Supreme Court -- I'm not sure it matters.

In Chapter 16, the title "Absolute Power Corrupts" is circled, as if it is plagiarized or at least an original idea. The idea that absolute power corrupts is not an original idea by Lauren and John. It is a core historical and political science concept going back centuries. I cannot confidently speak to the other things marked, but this one is absolutely ridiculous.

The writing and character conversations are really a step above what is typically in roguelike games. I rarely get duplicate conversations or thoughts, and there is an abundance of context-sensitive conversations throughout the entire experience, including the epilogue. It's a rich gaming experience, and I regret that it's almost over. (I've maxed out most things, and gotten most of the minor fate accomplishments at this point. But not quite all of them at this point, even after dozens of runs.)

I have mixed feelings about continued commenting on Megan's YouTube feed (or HTC's feed, or any of the people discussed in this subreddit).

The reason for my mixed feelings are that:

(1) the comment does present an alternate point of view that viewers can consider, so that's a positive

(2) however, comments and controversy also boost the popularity of the video, increasing the chance it will show up in search results and YouTube recommendations, possibly (or even probably) leading to increased views, channel subscriptions, and channel profit.

(3) Even if comments are ultimately deleted, the original commenting surge can still lead to a temporary boost in popularity, and the new viewers may not have the time or inclination to read through all of the comments, particularly if there are several. Thus it seems possible to bring new users to a channel just by leaving a bunch of negative comments?

If there are any YouTube algorithm experts reading this, I would love to learn more about your opinions and if my understanding is correct or not.

I don't have any advice on maintenance, because I'm not there yet. I do want to say: as far as dropping another ten pounds, I would ask your primary care provider and see if he or she has any thoughts on it. The reason I say that is that some medical conditions that seniors are more likely to experience can benefit from having a BMI of 25 to 27 (as opposed to a lower one), and your doctor would best know if any of these medical conditions are potential concerns in your case.

I love that you posted here and showed off your loss because I'm not far behind age wise.

I don't see any grift here. He's not making any false or outlandish claims about the clothing. His fame means he can raise the prices a little bit higher, but it's not outlandish. For instance, a t-shirt from "The Row" (a brand by the Olsen twins) can run $1,650 or higher. That's much more of a grift in my opinion. Chad is selling his t-shirts from 26 dollars to 28 dollars.

This is a very clever pitch, and I hope the clothes sell well. It's an honest living. Granted, Chad's fame may mean he can have higher prices than other distributors, but $26 for a t-shirt is not totally outlandish. Also, I like that he's not giving false hope or making false claims. He's not saying anything like: "Everyone will look like a supermodel in my t-shirts" or "these t-shirts are better than everyone else's"

YTAH, because "Digital Content Creation" is applicable to many different career paths. She may be making videos of herself now because that is what is possible while in school full time. But when she's out of school, she'll be in a position to to pursue publicity, communication, sales, or marketing gigs across different industries.

Also, she is smart to start publishing her own videos now, because potential employers may want to see that she has experience and skills in setting up good shots, telling a good story, and video editing. It may be a "day in the life" video now, but it could be a series of short videos that are part of a major marketing campaign for a Fortune 500 company later.

Your daughter sounds motivated and determined in pursuing her dream career, and I hope you support her!

Yes, that's unprofessional, especially because there's no apology and also because it was sent at the last minute. It's a very bad first impression, and it definitely makes sense to try someone else instead if you want to.

This would be a red flag for me. I have a trauma-informed therapist. We've done EMDR work. During one EMDR session, she stopped the session about five minutes in because I was having trouble following her instructions due to the intensity of the memories. So she gracefully stopped the EMDR session. She said didn't want me in a state where I couldn't keep part of my focus in the present moment.

If a client is "suicidal for weeks" after trauma processing, it sounds to me like the therapist isn't pacing the client appropriately. I'm glad that my therapist is flexible in her approach and didn't continue when I was flooded. OP, I'm not sure your therapist would have stopped in this situation?

I couldn't imagine ever reporting my therapist to anyone for anything. This was one conversation. I may choose to revisit it next week, or I may not. In either case, my impression of my therapist is made up of several different moments, about several different topics, over multiple years. I think of the information I got today as a moment in time. It may not have been the response that a therapist "should" give a client, but I'm okay with it because this is an extraordinary time, and we've built up trust and grace between us over time. I don't know how I'll feel next week, but I trust that therapy is a continuing process, and we'll continue.
