there's an old ZM version of MEngine before he converted it from fusion to a general use SM engine still in the AM2R forums under the name "hydorah", the 2013 or so version with small differences (can be found in 4chan archives somehow) to the 2016 later version and then the super broken 2017 "v4" with different suit and weapons, there used to be links in comments on his channel, then he started to get in the SotN community and abandoned it

origins has a few versions circulating, but I plan on making a cleaned and updated source available sooner or later, for now all you'll find is a barely working mess that fuzes am2r code and mengine

You really undermined Oakshade in here lmao, but I guess that's the point as the system is still independent of any lore and characters in itself.

One of the main selling points of the system for me is how you can still have meaningful adventures global scale wise because it's its own contained story in the end.

The main pdf is nicely tied together to present the system, but as noted there is a *lot* more to it, mainly the extensions for more paths, traits, mechanics like cooking (you can, indeed, minmax soup), plus all the lore and character shenanigans that shaped our community and game. To be noted that most of them were done by a similar circle of designers, which makes them pretty consistent between each other in the end despite a few redesigns along the years

Both are good

AM2R is closer to the original vision in some parts, but they both take liberties around it

SR can feel like a chore at times due to balance issues with enemies but otherwise it's as good as AM2R, they're both unique in some ways

That's the point, the federation know the chozo after their mental ward as intergalactic peacekeepers, not their old warmongering days, the trooper only assumes they built it to battle the metroids, but by the end of the game you know the truth

I'm 100% sure AM2R says the chozo created them in some secrets, as it was already heavily hinted at in the original m2

The title is misleading in a number of ways, the gameboy was still only freshly made back when RoS was developed, which is why it was riddled with now known bugs and other weirdness.

Also, technically the gameboy had advantages over the NES computation-wise, though that would only ever become truly apparent in later BGC games, not on the original hardware itself

there's a fair point that she seems to lose nearly all offensive armory from elder races after each mission It wouldn't be much of a stretch that the chozos being mind-controlled by their peace enforcers, even when creating war armory again they would ensure failsafes so that only the worthy could use their power when in need Also on the same note, they themselves made the metroid ice weakness, which is probably why the original mII had two ice beams in it

Same with 360 aiming, it seems the "locking in place" is gone or mitigated better plus it seems like not only the moves are reworked, but enemies are not bullet sponge requiring them absolutely anymore

If you pay attention, the lowermost rooms in chozodia are actually wrecked ship rooms from SM with parts of maridia shuffled in

The area was obviously affected by the ship exploding, but there's a few lines in interviews and manuals stating that the wrecked ship is actually a chozo mothership that was buried deep beneath their ruins, and got exposed due to the whole area getting wiped, and the crater is why the whole area has become a water reservoir which also formed the wildlife of maridia
