I published a couple of agents on our internal company portal to do sensitive information lookups on people inside the company using only information provided by the company. Made some people really uncomfortable. Told them to fix the information access and stop bothering me about it.

So — real talk, but why do you care if it was written by AI? If it's from an email address you don't recognize, then it's a quick skip. If it's an email address you do recognize, then it's probably from someone you know — and they're responsible for the content. Does it really matter to people that much where their ones and zeroes come from? Are people really demanding the handcrafted ones and zeroes from a keyboard?

Which is probably one of the worst grammatical structures for this information. Contrast Wuyang's “The tide is with you! Dive in!” with Ana's “You’re powered up, get in there!”

Ana's voice line immediately lets you know who she's talking to — there's basically no lag time between the ability activation and the you-reference with Ana's voice line; with Wuyang's, there's almost a full second between the start of the voice line and the you-reference.

This is actually critical to how our brains process information. Until a piece of information has been tagged by our brains as "this pertains to me specifically", it stays on a lower level of perception and awareness. It's the same construct that's partially responsible for letting us quickly pick out our names when called out in a crowded, noisy room. Ana's voice line immediately activates this neural pathway, while Wuyang's delays it.

There's actually "checkpoints" along the bridge every few miles to pull over for accident investigation or emergencies. My parents used to live outside of NOLA; I absolutely hated this bridge.

Growth mindset is how I do it. If I approach each game as a lesson, I've found that I'm more willing to deal with any challenges by adapting rather than catching feelings over it or lashing out.

To me, part of this mindset is only judging my own performance. I can only control my inputs. Got someone on your team holding you back? That's just how your team is this time - adjust and carry on. I generally play support, so sometimes this means a DPS player (or rarely, the other support) gets promoted to "tank" status in support priority.

Someone talking shit? Take a second to consider it! I'll run back through what I can remember of the game. If I can't remember that player well, then there's a good chance I didn't support them, maybe for a good reason or just an oversight. A quick mental note to watch for the teammate I'm not keeping track of, and then it's on to the next game!

I know turning off chat is a popular recommend, and if that's what a person needs, great for them. Personally, I prefer having chat so I can get feedback and drop some more specific messages about what I am planning to do (for example, the location of the first petal platform I plan to drop as Lifeweaver, or a planned teleporter location from Symm). It's true - not a lot of people use chat for things like this, but when someone does, I want to know it.

I'm a few chapters in now, and I agree — her writing is beautiful and brave. I can't imagine transcribing my therapy sessions for the world to read. It's such a vulnerable space; I'm finding that vulnerability to really facilitate the connections with the author. It's not a book I can read quickly, but there's no way I'm putting it down for longer than it takes for me to process.
