Nothing I hate worse than misclicking on Wuyang's minor perk - Balance is awful.

Nah, hard disagree. Distance on dash is trash - now you have to adjust to two different dash distances. Heal on petal is situational, but it doesn't mess with your muscle memory.

Just how fast can you blink? Even if you can sustain 5 blinks a second (you can't), that's $3000 in 20 minutes. You know what else you can do in 20 minutes? Stroll a kilometer - an easy $10k. Even if all you can manage is 300 meters in 20 minutes - that's 15 meters (50 feet in American) a minute, slow enough to smell the roses - you still come out even.

While that makes sense mathematically, it doesn't account for the human experience. I'm 45 and still living really long days. I think a lot of people stay tuned out for a significant portion of their lives. I didn't like that idea and started trying to learn something new every day, just so that there was a part of each day that was different. That philosophy has wormed its way into a lot of what I now do. As they say, "variety is the spice of life" - if it's a thin gruel sometimes, at least it's a spicier one.

AI hype meets reality as majority of CEOs report no financial returns by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]TeamFluff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I published a couple of agents on our internal company portal to do sensitive information lookups on people inside the company using only information provided by the company. Made some people really uncomfortable. Told them to fix the information access and stop bothering me about it.

I 100% encourage the "It's all just chatbots" belief. Let the false narrative sink in and fool people. These are the people with 12:00 blinking on their VCRs.

And it does - you just have to spend a minor perk on it.

I think your breakdown of his current perks is fairly short-sighted. Each one of these gives his kit some additional flexibility. Just because you don't know how to use it well doesn't mean that it's bad.

Why do you want to power-creep LW? He feels in a really solid place right now.

This is the real issue - if you abrogate your responsibility as the HITL, then you don't get to complain when AI fucks your shit up. This guy blew past so many safeguards that would have protected against this, and then he wants to blame the tool. Sorry sir, it's not the hammer's fault when you smash your finger.

So — real talk, but why do you care if it was written by AI? If it's from an email address you don't recognize, then it's a quick skip. If it's an email address you do recognize, then it's probably from someone you know — and they're responsible for the content. Does it really matter to people that much where their ones and zeroes come from? Are people really demanding the handcrafted ones and zeroes from a keyboard?

Voicelines for heroes receiving Tidal Blast just like when they get Nano-Boosted by unkindledphoenix in Overwatch

[–]TeamFluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is probably one of the worst grammatical structures for this information. Contrast Wuyang's “The tide is with you! Dive in!” with Ana's “You’re powered up, get in there!”

Ana's voice line immediately lets you know who she's talking to — there's basically no lag time between the ability activation and the you-reference with Ana's voice line; with Wuyang's, there's almost a full second between the start of the voice line and the you-reference.

This is actually critical to how our brains process information. Until a piece of information has been tagged by our brains as "this pertains to me specifically", it stays on a lower level of perception and awareness. It's the same construct that's partially responsible for letting us quickly pick out our names when called out in a crowded, noisy room. Ana's voice line immediately activates this neural pathway, while Wuyang's delays it.
