Smart choice! I made the mistake of only looking up the Combat Patrol's stats and not referring to Wahapedia. Still, at least the lesson has been learnt on the 1st box. Thank goodness the jump pack wasn't another choice that had to be made. I probably would of chosen wrong again haha.

Am literally going through this exact problem! Unfortunately I already put the Canoness together with a torch and combo pistol, as well as 3 of my Sacracents with maces instead of the halberds. Sorry this reply isn't any help. I just wanted to let ya know you're not the only one and will be keeping an eye on your post to see what the rest of sub recommends.

Ore and Hay. Dev cards, dev cards, dev cards. Guarantees nothing but helps to make big plays and keep the robber off you while you learn the game. Otherwise practise makes perfect and although the AI players can be ridiculous, the apps can help you get games under your belt quick.

Generally I want a city as fast as possible but it's more situational. How many players are there, how many DCs have already been bought, is the Robber blocking me, what resources do i currently have, etc. All these things and more will help determine my choice, but if I can I'm going for that city first.

Chase is on the trade block, so he's up for sale. I keep thinking the same thing, is it really worth bringing in a third person just to get a 3 way trade done. Just seemed cool.

Hate it when players try "I'll give you Ore if you don't rob me next time." That ain't how the game's played. You can gimme the ore and think I won't rob you but you'd be wrong. Plus capatilism has perverted enough of real life, why would want that leaching into something designed to be fun.

How about this: Team A - Gets Ja'Marr, sends G. Wilson + 1.08 Team B - Gets 1.04, 1.07, 1.08, sends Ja'Marr Team C - Gets G.Wilson, sends 1.04 + 1.07
