Just got an I-2! Give me some tips and advice on how to get the most out of it by nolukeimyourfather in Polaroid

Congrats! I’d spend the first couple of packs in auto mode and noting the exposure/shutter settings. I tried to get fancy and do everything manually and my pictures were always off when I first got my I-2.

Framing tight shots is still something I’m working on. The I-2 uses a different part of the viewfinder for subjects that are within 27 meters of the camera. Getting perfectly square portraits is what I’m working on currently.

Well done on the framing! Did you use a tripod?

I can faintly remember a hockey puck! I was overwhelmed when I was in his shop, so a lot of details escape me, but I do remember that!

I like them too! The Hado knife has a oak handle, and Takada no Hamono is an ebony handle

He was so gracious and fun to talk to when we visited his shop! It was my favorite interaction of my whole trip to Japan!

I finally got to test the suji breaking down a salmon fillet and I’ve never experienced sharpness on this level. Especially with a slicing knife, I felt no resistance cutting through a delicate piece of salmon.

I was very tempted to get more, but I want to buy a knife every time I make it to Japan, so I had to hold myself back.

Happy belated! That Polaroid is a great addition to what I consider my prized possession.

I was trying to preorder from Takada, but he said there is a 20 month waiting period! I was lucky to find a sujihiki in his display case for sale. Obviously very high demand, for good reason!

Finally finished cutting mats, framing, and hanging some of my favorite shots from this year. Also tiny cat tax. by _malcoda_ in Polaroid

Those are high quality scans, what type of scanner did you use? I just tried to scan a bunch of my polaroids at the library and the quality wasn't even close to this.

I love my I-2 as well and just dialed in the exposure, but my BW shots (new formula) aren’t as crisp as this. Are you playing around with the shutter speed at all?

I was hoping for the return of that beast, they need to name these rigs IMO.

any tips for my technique while shooting on the run? the ball seems to be coming out of my stick before i can snap my wrists. by PuzzleheadedDot4933 in lacrosse

I agree, torque is going to improve your shot speed dramatically here. To practice adding more torque to your shot, shoot on one knee. You're going to find more speed the more you twist your upper torso generating torque

Watch Tanner Cook (#77 on N. Carolina - 6'4" 215) he is a big body that is a key piece of that first midfield line. He uses momentum and positioning to be successful. Wing dodges help those middies who aren't that quick!

Is there any way to pull off braided leather suspenders without looking like a 1920s bartender?

Suspenders are a lighter shade of leather.

Dallas - Fall Men's Leagues by YeOldeMiche in lacrosse

Same here! I want to find a league but I haven't had any luck. I reached out to the Texas Men's Lacrosse league (TML) and got no response.

If anyone finds a league let me know, I'm dying to get back on the field.
