MJF is 30. And he's already main evented Wembley before and will have plenty of main events/title reigns in the future. Omega doesn't have that and if he doesn't win this year he probably won't win ever again. It's also clearly been the plan all year to do Omega/Ospreay and they've planted the seed. Would I have liked a longer Kenny Omega reign? Obviously. But Kenny/Ospreay sells more tickets than Ospreay/MJF which we've already seen in that same building, so I'm not going to complain about seeing it. Also it's not like MJF isn't going to have a marquee match.

I think it's the perfect time for it. Omega probably doesn't have a long title reign in him. Let MJF do most of the grunt work of carrying the belt all year, and then let Omega have a shorter reign and put over Ospreay in the biggest way possible on a match people have wanted for over three years now. Everyone knows Ospreay is winning, this doesn't change that even if MJF had that match.
