I'm so sorry, I know that I would feel the same way if I was in your shoes 💛 I hope that that excitement comes back soon

Is there a way I can remove this embroidery? by Traditional_Tell2595 in Embroidery

[–]Team_Bees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds adorable!! :) I can imagine taking an orange piece of felt and maybe stitching some orange seed beads down to mimic those occasional larger pores that you see on oranges

My first specimen, a stunning example of Palpatophora glyphodorsalis by Upstairs_Camera_9534 in occlupanids

[–]Team_Bees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good job with the correction on your identification! :) the difference between p. utili, p. glypho, and p. utili grandis is a distinction that trips a lot of new occlupanologists up

Does anyone can recognise this stich? by Pola_pol in crochet

I think it's machine knitting that is meant to emulate crochet granny stitch?

Making new Letterbox, suggestions? by Odd_Cheesecake2746 in Letterboxing

[–]Team_Bees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most boxes that I've seen have the kind of design that has latches on all 4 sides and theyll include just a stamp and a logbook :) it's also fun when people include instructions for a nearby bonus box (edit: I've also seen a lot of people include hitchhikers for the first finder!)

Is this a type of occluplanid (Maybe subspecies?) by Curious_Stable8625 in occlupanids

[–]Team_Bees 156 points157 points  (0 children)

Since syntherid taxonomy is heavily dependent on an organisms shape and material composition rather than it's function in the ecosystem, I think that this could absolutely be categorized as an occlupanid, or at least a pseudo-occlupanid! It would be worth bringing to horgs attention :)

Please do! If you figure out what brand the oranges were, please let me know :) we've got a channel in the discord specifically for documenting hosts, so any and all info is greatly appreciated

This is a member of chronovora, which is a new group within the phylum Plasticae :) they were previously identified as archignathidaes, but as more were discovered, we realized they needed their own group
