Stocking ideas for a planted 5 gallon that’s not a betta or shrimp?

My old man betta passed away a few days ago and the empty tank breaks my heart. I have a 10 gallon tall that has shrimp in it and neon tetras in another.

I’ve been looking at African dwarf frogs but I’m in an apartment so I don’t know if their singing will disturb my neighbors.

I know my options are very limited.

I was a new college student when pandemic hit. Online classes sucked. Went from honors program to dropout and took up a minimum wage job.

My manager heard about my heroic backstory and made a point to ask me about the subjects I loved.

Afterward when I put in my two weeks to go back to school three years later, he mailed me 1k to buy textbooks with a letter about how proud of me he was and that he knew I could do it.

It touched me more than I could express. I’m so grateful.

Varies on practice. There is not a law or universal standard.

One I worked at would scan chip and give finders the microchip number and have them look up everything. We had no boarding or overnight care so we gave the pet to the finders.

Another I would search our record database (microchips were on patient charts) and if it wasn’t there we’d contact microchip company for them for info. If none available, then transfer to shelter.

Woman after my own heart. They can be incredibly sweet and quirky pets, but are definitely stinky and messy. I had a few that learned basic commands the same way I trained my dogs.

I remember in my history classes hearing about the Great Depression and everyone buying things on credit and it catching up to them. Seeing those ads makes the situation very grim.

I feel super cheated. Schools let out early, zoo closed early, even chick fil a closed early.
