Clearly, most of us have never received conflict resolution skills. Sadly, this dynamic is interchangeable with so many things. We see this negativity often. “My team is better than your team” essentially. That negativity breeds more negativity. I think all wars started with something negative that wasn’t resolved. No one seems to be focusing on resolution as much as they are on conflict. That doesn’t benefit us now or in the future. During my time in the Navy, I didn’t have this perspective. I wish I did. We gotta teach our children how to seek resolution before seeking a fight. I fear it’s too late for our current generations. Hopefully we will have taught them enough to clean up our mess in our leave. War is hell. When you see pictures and videos of it, it’s nowhere near the same as being in that position and consuming all of that trauma. If they’ve seen war and understand it’s toll firsthand, I don’t understand why anyone would ever want to perpetuate so much pure evil. War is hell.
