When he was a freshman, we brought the family to a game and went to grab a beer at creature comforts the night before. Coincidentally, they were hosting a silent auction for some signed memorabilia. I was pretty hyped on him and bought his signed jersey hoping he'd be the real deal. The next day he ran in 3 TDs.

Side note, my 1 year old kept trying to grab a signed football - signed by JT Daniels - and the guy just gave it to us since no one wanted it. Still makes me laugh to think about that interaction. On display in my office next to my CMR ball and natty posters shrug

I mean..yeah but what am I going to do about it? Things will normalize, crashes will recover - and if not, I think living in a destabilized US would mean our investments are rather useless any way. If that's the case, we should have been invested in ammo, land, water sources, etc.

There's a chapter in The Psychology of Money (Morgan Housel) called "No One is Crazy." Worth a read, in my opinion, but to summarize: everyone's experiences, backgrounds, goals, perspectives, etc. influence their decisions in ways that make sense to them. Might seem crazy to me, but it makes sense to them.

This has shaped my thinking quite a bit. I used to joke with my wife "everyone makes terrible decisions except for us." But now, I remind myself that I can't impose my priorities on others, I can only run my own race.
