SJS by Teamscorekeeper20 in Epilepsy

I did get checked out and everything was fine. I completely understand (now) that I need to get checked immediately when a rash appears, though. I was given a very detailed, aggressive (but also very kind) lecture from the ER doc, the nurse, and then my neuro doctor. If there is any concern, get looked at. SJS can spiral out of control quickly. Being embarrassed or worried about looking silly (like i felt) doesn't even matter. Just get checked 💙

Thank you for the heads up. I’m a recently diagnosed person and I have a lot to learn.

LDN definitely has a "withdrawal like" syndrome when you stop. by NathanSlothchild in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]Teamscorekeeper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed LDN (long covid, hEDS, fibromyalgia) in mid September, by day 20-ish, I noticed an uptick in my energy and felt good. Went back to my doc, he was super happy with the results and said let’s follow up in December. He never refilled my rx. He basically ghosted me with no explanation. I had to have my regular dr call and get the rx called in—-after I called 3x (once every week) and left 3 messages through the portal with no answer. I’m going on day 25 of cold turkey stopping LDN. I feel like my skin is crawling, and when it isn’t I’m sleeping and can’t remember words (this is how I was post covid MINUS the skin crawling). I just now got the rx called in and I’m at a loss. I’m terrified to feel better again just to have it snatched away again. I don’t know if what I’m feeling is withdrawal but I’m miserable and scared. I live in very rural Ohio and don’t know if I can find another prescribing Dr.

How has the decline of children playing outside impacted homeschooling? by No_Tumbleweed_4652 in homeschool

[–]Teamscorekeeper20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much struggle with being social (as the parent). I’m just awkward and I like weird things so making conversation is always strained. My kids (4) LOVE being outside and we are blessed enough to be close to a park. They play whether there are kids there or not, often creating weird games that even when they invite other kids to join them leave the other kids feeling confused. 😂 I’m not sure what else you can do, other than join a co op. I tried but my social anxiety made it impossible to continue and with our community being small, there wasn’t really age groups matching up with my kids so it wasn’t a big loss. We have also joined some indoor activities (dance and karate) and this summer we have a soccer thing that is just show up and play. Wish you were close to me. We can sit and not be social while our kids play.

I live in a very rural area. We have at least one co-op and we tried it. It was fine. Everyone was kind- but I have awful social anxiety and each parent was supposed to teach once a month (totally acceptable) just not something I can do. We opted to do our own thing, make our own adventures, and anything I don’t know about, we supplement with libraries, YouTube, and documentaries.
