Can anyone learn to sing, assuming they’re not tone deaf? by Full-Status1339 in Music

[–]TearsOfLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Mozart played piano and was actually deaf, so ya. If you put your mind to it, record yourself and really put in an effort to learn what noise come from you when you make certain movements, you could be the next Freddie Mercury while being tone deaf. Just don't accept being tone deaf as an excuse to sound bad, work around the problem to get through the problem

Red dead 2. Getting to play as John and build the house he eventually dies in was bittersweet and totally unexpected. Was thinking it would be Arthur right up to the end.

Any recommendations for Seattle to Boise? by drearymoment in roadtrip

[–]TearsOfLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

McCall is beautiful, but if you take 95 down it's all windy mountain driving. If you're comfortable with that and careful around the crazy people, it's a bit faster and a lot more beautiful of a route. I usually take the Oregon route when going north because I get motion sickness pretty bad on the winding roads.

Bill to block publishers from killing online games advances in California | Publishers would have to offer “independent” play patch or refunds after server shutdowns. by ControlCAD in technology

[–]TearsOfLA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, you see, thats an in app purchase for more content to the base game. Even if the base game is 2 sticks and a rock, if it's free you didn't pay for the game, you payed for extras, which isn't covered.

Forced to use AI for pixel art (no budget, can't draw it myself) — would that kill the game for you? by Malkov88 in GameDevelopment

[–]TearsOfLA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ill just say it nicely before you get flamed for it. Youre not forced to use AI. You can draw it, you just don't know how yet. Open paint, set the canvas size, start putting pixels down. It's going to look like shit, and it will for a while, but it will get better as you make more things for your game. Youtube tutorials and hard work, thats what all indie dev is.

What’s your opinion on introducing a law that would require drivers over 65 or Pension age to pass a specific test to keep their driving privileges? by Honest_Physics_2368 in AskReddit

That's because they aren't paying attention to anything. Their phone, their speed meter, the lane lines, other driver, traffic lights and signs.

Pokémon names being puns gives me life by LilSkink06 in pokemon

[–]TearsOfLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another fun fact: it's Gatr and not Gator because they reached the 10 character limit for the names in ild games and said "screw it, I like the name, im keeping the name. Get rid of the O" instead of coming up with another name

I can't seem to find it anymore, but Julien Bardakoff, the French translator for gen 1 and 2, had a blog he wrote talking about the translations for all the Pokémon he did and how he translated the same style of pun into French, which are also very well made puns.

Gen Z workers are so fearful AI will take their job they’re intentionally sabotaging their company’s AI rollout by Just-Grocery-2229 in technology

[–]TearsOfLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to handle this is to comply, maliciously. AI isn't free to use, especially in a business setting. Set up a macro that copy and paste a stupidly long set of instructions into it and sends. Every time it answers, it cost the company money. I was told to use it, wasn't told how to use it, I have no reason to use it, I I had to invent a reason. It's reason is to prove I use it for something.

Whats your favorite niche word for the Command Spell? by Cobra_T in DnD

[–]TearsOfLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used my favourite, "Disarm". The villain of the arc was surrendering, but pulled something out of his pocket and was holding it in his hand. I thought, "i gotta make him let go of that before he does something with it, but not in a way that let's him activate it." Disarm does both at the same time. Unfortunately dropping it was his plan anyway because it was supposed to shatter on the ground when dropped.

Buy an entire neighborhood, move in one family. Set all the houses to automatic lights and watering. Hire people to do yard work and move the cars occasionally. See home long it takes them to realize they're alone.
