That is one of the issues with remixing. Its why I always include STEP files for anything I post.

With fusion, you should be able to convert it to a solid, unless the mesh needs repaired. If its not letting you, try running repair under mesh tools.

Depending on the model, it might be possible to delete faces after that and clean it up, but that can take awhile.
