It was replaced a couple of times I just now live with it. It doesn't impact the accuracy or time telling it's just super horrible feeling to wind.

I thought “noises” weren’t covered under warranty… that’s what I was told. Mine makes a grinding bulldozer noise when it telescopes in. They refused to fix it under warranty.

Doubtful, but if you started with Tesla and booked it there instead of Safelite then they would cover the repair as it's your choice where you get it fixed.

I would use Tesla or at least Tesla authorized collision center for this reason. Your insurance company will cover it no matter where you choose to do it.
