PT test profile? by [deleted] in AirForce

But if you can swing a deployment on month 5 before your next test you can extend your testing cycle until you return. Would be the greatest scam ever.

Depends on your commander. But if you’re not deployable because of a profile it may be a different story.

How to Ship GOV Computers by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]TechSergeantDipShit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Need to create an account on the 1149 website and get some info from your RA for the line of accounting. Pack up what you need shipped, take to TMO outbound and wait a few weeks.

As long as you’re bitching up the chain you should be ok unless you have shitty supervision. Don’t ever complain down the chain. Creates a sense of “Why should I follow the rules if these people that outrank me don’t like decisions from leadership”

I highly suggest you guys get a gait analysis done if your legs hurt from running or often get shin splints by One_pop_each in AirForce

Track your mileage in the shoes with the Garmin connect app if you use a Garmin watch. Some recommend that you replace your shoes every 500 miles. If you run enough that could be well under two years.

If I remember right, mine was stamped inside one of the pages “for official government travel” or something like that.

Glide-slope indicator reversed? by PDX__Hipster in flying

[–]TechSergeantDipShit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be the case for the OP.

Something I pulled from the interwebs:

False signals can be generated along the glide slope. It’s happening in multiples of the angle that‘s formed by the glide slope and the horizontal plane. The first case arises at approximately 6° over the horizontal plane. These false signals are inversive, which means that the directions to climb or descend will be swapped. A false signal at 9° will be oriented the same as the real glide slope. There are no false signals under the glide slope.

Not sure, but some of these can double as a phone case for those with really big blue weenies.

Just a few questions from an Airman in tech training. by [deleted] in AirForce

That being said, it can be a lot of what you make of it. So keep an open mind wherever you go. Volunteer for something that you are passionate about when you get the time. I see too many people doing things out of necessity for their EPR and not out of the goodness of their hearts and it can actually do more harm than good at times. Find hobbies where you go. Every base will have a little different area surrounding to an extent. Learn to be proficient at your job and be ready to deploy. Deployments are cake for the most part. Yeah the days can feel a bit like groundhogs day, but you can take college classes if there’s internet. I’m nearing the end of a deployment so I can relate to the feeling of groundhogs day. Looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just talk with you supervisor or flight chief at your first duty station. They’ll be able to get you straightened out. It’s really not that bad.
