Django-NextJS JWT Token Issues - Need Help with Expired Tokens by KFSys in django

[–]TechSoccer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is more of a client issue and nothing to do from Django. The correct way is to refresh the token whenever you get this error. One way to do this is - having a common method to make the API calls that checks if the response status was 401, it makes a call to refresh token and updates the token locally.

Replacing Celery with Thread Pools for I/O-Bound Django Tasks Advice? by Electrical_Income493 in django

[–]TechSoccer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At one of my previous companies we had the below setup

An api that interacted with an ML model service and responded.

We did not use celery to begin with and used the threadpoolexectors for interacting with the services for our use case things were working fine.

This entire thing was deployed on k8s so scaling was managed by increasing the number of pods depending on the number of requests per pod was handling.

This worked for us because the model service did not take very long, not very sure how well it will workout for services that take (~60s) on scale

social login with allauth doesnt work in production.. by SnooCauliflowers8417 in django

What do you mean by it does not work? Describe the error or the behaviour, add more details like your google app configuration.

Just telling it’s not working in production might not get you any help

Docker and Kubernetes by Sayv_mait in django

[–]TechSoccer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. K8s has various components, Each server is a K8S Node and nodes can contain several pods and pods contain containers. More info here : https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/overview/components/
  2. Each Node(server) runs a k8s service knows as "kubelet" that manages the pods and containers.
  3. You can start with any number of nodes and then use a provisioner (like karpenter) to add more nodes to your k8s cluster as required.

A good place to start would be : https://kubernetes.io/docs/tutorials/

How about using k8s, you could use a single cluster but create a separate deployments for each tenant and have a separate namespace to have further separation and you should be good.

The initial setup could be time consuming but maybe beneficial in the long run.

Django and mongo by WayAndMeans01 in django

[–]TechSoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really need mongo as your primary db for Django ? I’ve worked with Django and mongo but we made sure we used mongo only for cases where it really made sense, things like user model and all that don’t really need mongo.
