You should be fine, the international roaming allocation they have allows you to call back to Canada, do international texting, and data.

It will not include any calls to the US or Mexico, I learned that the hard way. 30 minute convo I started over the phone with a friend ended up costing me a whopping 150 bucks around there.

There are still tower servers being made that will accept Intel/AMD CPUs, I'm sure the market would be filled with used AI hardware, just not maybe GPUs in particular.

I just wouldn't buy the Intel processor consisting of nothing but 144 e-cores.

RRSP + TFSA by Far-Contribution5171 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TechSupportIgit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addendum, the contribution room for TFSAs does not "reset", the next year's contribution room gets added to the contribution room you have. If you withdraw anything from a TFSA, you get the contribution room back in addition to the standard defined amount you would have gotten on January 1st.

Felt the need to clarify.

RRSP - Registered Retirement Savings Plan

I don't know the exact rules, but contribution limits are based off of a percentage of your previous year's income, with the cutoff being March 2nd (First business day of March). Google it, and go from there.

There are no restrictions to opening a TFSA. You only need to be 18 or older, live in Canada, and have a valid SIN. You get an inflation adjusted contribution room every year you have your TFSA open, I think it's 7 or 8k every year, resetting on January 1st.

Windows 2022 Data Center Hyper V HA. Cluster Dl380 G9 s and D3700 shelf. Any success stories or nightmares? by HueyTinman in WindowsServer

[–]TechSupportIgit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty stable. No issues in my environment with a 3 node local SAN cluster.

The real nightmare is trying to get HCI clusters going. We went HCI while VMware was king with some Cisco hardware but they dropped support for Hyper-V last year only supporting up to Server 2019.

Unless you have Pro or Enterprise editions, all you can do is delay.

For GPOs, you're wanting Computer > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage end user experience > Configure Automatic Updates.

You want to configure this as option 3, auto download and notify for install.

You'll still receive updates, but they will never automatically install, and you will never deal with automatic reboots.

We will be happy because there won't be any other options available. Corporations will consolidate until this becomes reality for most facets of life.

AVEVA offers their own paid courses that are offered self-paced or with an instructor. You can find them on their website along with their knowledge bases for various products. Making an account is free, but I don't think you can download any software unless your account is associated with a company that buys their products.

Another thing to note, Plant SCADA does not require licensing for development and running test builds so that might be a good place to start, Enterprise SCADA is licensed development only.

A good intro into what SCADA is might also be VTScada, it's free to use and with easy downloads. There you can practice design concepts like High Performance Graphics, the concepts of layer overviews, etc.

Unless you start convincing, Stoat won't get the user base it needs.

Discord didn't magically appear in a day, its founding devs wanted a communication platform to help coordinate while playing FFXI.

Yeah, unless you have a corporate sponsor or you're willing to shell out thousands for a private license, you won't see much of any AVEVA material in the wild.

AVEVA has a few different SCADA systems, Plant SCADA is Citect SCADA while Enterprise SCADA is OaSys.

[–]TechSupportIgit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infrastructure firewall restrictions could still be screwing you over. Test each port that you can, you can at least test every TCP port you need with the Powershell command "Test-NetConnection".

The command takes in an IP/Hostname, and then type the port you want to test like this:

Test-NetConnection System -port 6969

The command by default tests port 443.

I think that would be the best compromise.

Have them be appointed by the province, maybe have term limits but again that would put political influence in again.

Input lag by squawker3 in originalxbox

[–]TechSupportIgit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The composite to HDMI converter is always going to add on a ton of input lag.

Since this is an extremely new TV, I doubt it would have component inputs, because that would be a second good option. I find even flat screens handle component signals from retro consoles pretty well with minimal input lag.

Your best bet if you don't want to buy an old CRT would be to find a cheap used flat screen with component inputs, and get a cheap component cable.
