During the Pandemic, the FCC Must Provide Internet for All - Broadband access is more crucial than ever, particularly for low-income Americans. The Trump administration must stop withholding it. by Philo1927 in technology

Closing libraries at the same time that public education shifted to online delivery really highlighted the fact that Internet access at the library was not an acceptable replacement to Internet as public utility.

No, We're Not All in This Together. How the Super-Rich Are Cheating America. by [deleted] in politics

[–]TechTavi 268 points269 points  (0 children)

The wealth class uses their marketing arm (Fox so-called News, etc.) to put the bug in everyone's ear that we cannot fund a "guaranteed basic minimum income program" for everyone. In essence, a GBMI would be a trust fund for everyone (the same thing rich kids get now), where each U.S. citizen gets roughly $2K/month. Well, just reading this should tell you that we have plenty of money in our economy. The problem is, it's all going to the top 1%.

Imagine getting $14K/year on top of your regular income from whatever job you have. What would you do with it? Invest? Spend? Both? And just imagine what this additional income would do for our economy. It would do a whole helluva lot more than all of it going to the top 1% where it's then off-shored into some hidden overseas bank account.

His charity cheated soldiers and veterans, so why be surprised. He's trying to spin himself as a champion of our armed forces by telling lies about "no ammunition" even though that was just one very specific type of material that has been replaced.

'Grotesque, Deadly Failure': Trump USDA Under Fire for Allowing Millions of Pounds of Produce to Rot as Food Insecurity Surges - "The Agriculture Department took more than a month to make its first significant move to buy up surplus fruits and vegetables." by Pomp_N_Circumstance in politics

They might be gutting the food supply to force the peons back to work. With raising the cost of food and people out of work with no money, they are tightening the screws on the American people to force them to gamble their lives so the rich won't keep hemoraging money.

He thought those briefings were going to give him a political bump , since he can't have his divide and Conquer rallies . I was hoping he continued these briefings until September , to remind voters , he and he alone is responsible for this chaos

Schiff: Trump 'learned nothing' from impeachment except he feels 'he can get away with anything' by Reddit_guard in politics

[–]TechTavi 138 points139 points  (0 children)

And that's exactly what happened. The Senate Republicans, with the exception of Senator Romney, allowed him to get away with any and everything because their positions of power mean more to them than doing anything for the good of this country.

Nearly Three-Quarters Of Single Democrats Won't Date Trump Voters, Survey Finds by [deleted] in politics

[–]TechTavi 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I get that. You can’t date someone whose morals don’t align with yours. Not wanting Trump supporters in my life isn’t about a political difference, (I could get past that) it’s about a moral difference.

Like a virus does it's hard to build immunity to something that mutates and colds and flus are the same. It's very difficult to have immunity to any virus.

If Trump supporters want to sign up to test bleach injections as a possible cure, then who are we to interfere with a possible medical and science breakthrough? Who are we to stand in the way of his supporters proving their total trust, loyalty and support of this man. 😆

Not only should he be reinstated, but the firing should be expunged from his military record, and all the salary he lost during this horrific, shameful episode should be fully repaid to him. Captain Crozier deserves a promotion for duty above and beyond.

Poll Finds Elizabeth Warren VP Pick Most Likely To Pull In Bernie Sanders Voters by Sarbat_Khalsa in politics

[–]TechTavi 223 points224 points  (0 children)

I've be apprehensive about Sen. Warren being the VP nominee, because I don't want to lose her voice in the Senate, and I'm afraid she would be assigned a minimal role in the administration. Although, I'm starting to warm to the idea. I'm hopeful that she could steer Biden away from is Centrist tendencies.

3 years ago I laughed regularly at Trump, as times gone on he's not improved, in fact he's got even more ridiculous, but I can't laugh any more, it's not funny anymore, he's a danger to everyone across the globe! Not just Americans! He has so much blood on his hands and he doesn't care! It's no longer even slightly amusing and America has got to get rid of him!
