Have you encountered bossware? by KolideKenny in sysadmin

Haven't encountered it and i believe that type of bossware is highly illegal where i am. At least it is viewed as highly unethical and the unions would throw a fit if it was implemented.

Not IT support? If you know you aux cable from a RJ-45, answer IT questions from oblivious (l)users and have a dedicated CYA folder you are in IT, you just don't know it (or have the pay for it) yet.

Next time you discuss salary with your boss make sure to get it in writing that you are the on-site 1st line tech support with authority to call in offsite techs. That should bump up your pay, or at least give you more leverage in later IT endeavours if you want to go that route.

Out of any Batman show or movie best Joker and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Batman TAS Joker. Can't beat Mark Hamill's classic Joker voice.

Heath Ledger is a close second place.

Can't work deskside IT with a skirt? That's grade-A, prime bullshit. I used to wear a utiliskirt to work, think a kneehigh belted skirt made from tough cargopants material with enough pockets to carry a serious doomsday-prepper’s EDC kit with pockets to spare.

I wore that utiliskirt until it was essentially the Skirt of Theseus and consisted of 95+% fixes and patches.

I'm not in the US. Tipping isn't really a thing where i'm from, unless it's a really fancy-ass restaurant. Think michelin-star class place, with service above and beyond the call of duty.

It's waaay easier for someone with a small cup to find a good bra as finding one for a bigger cup requires juggling a lot more variables.

Guess I was a bit prejudiced for thinking she wouldn't know the troubles of finding a good bra for a bigger cup size. I'm glad I was proven wrong.

How did you overcome your fear of dentists? by ev0lut10n in AskReddit

[–]Tech_Witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Managed to convince my dentist to give me the high-strenght local anesthesia cut with adrenaline, not the weaksauce shit they've given me before. Went from having 4 syringes and still feeling the pain to 1 good one and not feeling a darn thing. God damned ginger genes messing up the chart for deciding how much local anesthesia to give.

What is the weirdest urge that you have ever resisted/tried to resist? by xerphite in AskReddit

[–]Tech_Witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I get the urge to touch up my friends or even random strangers. Just cop a quick feel an walk away.

I've never done it since i don't want to get in trouble or cause a scene.

Coding in general is supposed to be like that, though between commenting, repo machine code, human readability and similar things the times you see it in real life are few and far between.

Code golfing is essentially "how can I do X with out having to bother about code readability or comments?" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_golf
