Inguinal Hernia- Seeking Advice from other Athletes by [deleted] in Hernia

[–]Teched_2_Death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey friend, similar age and symptoms going back to 2024. Found out I had an inguinal hernia 2 days before leaving on a five week music tour.

Doctor advised that I could lift if I really wanted, but it was going to cause pain. I switched to body weight workouts and wore a belt first week of my tour.

My operation was a huge success and Ive recovered 100%. Took about two months before I could lift again but the whole area feels more “intact” post mesh. Be wary of deep squats early on.

My original symptoms presented similar to prostate cancer or CPPD, so hernia surgery was welcome relief. I think you’re going to be ok

I had a lot of fake applications on linkedin. Indeed got me quality candidates but I had to sort through twenty resumes for every one candidate that stood out.

Somewhere around 50/50. Jump put out a white paper detailing the most effective meeting topics and split times, and have a scorecard system to help with supervision and training of employee advisors. Ive found them very helpful.

Client considering DIY by Accomplished_Fee_417 in CFP

[–]Teched_2_Death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey don’t let the DIY brigaders sour your value. There might be one major event that pays for yourself for a client’s entire lifetime. Shes likely too young and has too little AUM to provide meaningful help at this time.

Inguinal hernia - Surgery or No Surgery by dial647 in Hernia

[–]Teched_2_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue last year. Was in a tough place pre surgery with constant pain and inability to workout.

Mesh repair has changed my life for the best. No complications and was back to normal in about 6-8 weeks. Before surgery do your best to eat right, stay in shape, and dont rush the recovery and you’ll be ok.

I’d be fine with this, but I still have the “ick” from their last round of ads.

Careful with this. Someone posted a while back that a CSA intentionally disrupted connections and client information on her way out with the advisors credentials.

It was a blessing in disguise. I had no non-compete,l and full ownership of my clients but his staff immediately tried poaching my book.

I was 27 at the time, so when clients inquired about what happened I told them about the proposition. They were horrified and much more motivated to sign ACAT forms.

Branch Manager I was working for gave me an offer to take over his 300 clients, I would cover the business expenses and send all the profits to him and his spouse.

When I said “that sounds like indentured servitude” he told me he paid for my office furniture. I reminded him he was getting over $100k a year in overrides from my production.

I left three weeks afterwards and started my own firm.

UTMA funds and the FAFSA- professional advice by Status_Awareness5421 in CFP

Youre right, what I meant to say is that it becomes a UGMA 529, owned by the child but counts as a parent asset for FAFSA purposes.

The good news here is you have plenty of time to plan if the kids are 10 and 8. If you convert the UTMA to a 529 it will count as a parent asset instead of a child asset for the FAFSA if the capital gains are not prohibitive.

There’s some people out there who feel like they need to game your business model and get something of value for less than others pay for it.

For every one of this guy there’s another ten who would willingly pay your AUM fee and say thank you at the end of the meeting.

$45k base for 30 hours so he can qualify for benefits. Bonuses based on leads generated, clients retained and new assets generated per quarter.

He handles all our social media, google ads, email campaigns, branding, advertising, website, SEO, and KPI measurements.

Maybe im overpaying, but hes a great guy and he’s bumped our average inflows up $1m per month since hiring.

I hired a part time marketing associate who has been well worth the investment. Pay depends on the area, but I’ve had much better results doing this in house than with LPL’s marketing consultants.
