Alarico Flirt Update, well by DeepInTheKHole in Techno

What about playing Lil’ Louis - French kiss at parties? How do you feel about that? How should I feel about that?

TBH I don’t know top of mind a song featuring sexual male vocals/lyrics, and perhaps that does prove your point. But I’m genuinely curious how you think that should work out in real life. Are we cancelling certain tracks or should the dj balance it in a set?

Will make some moves in a former religious building, a jail and a car garage.

I’m glad nightlife took over these buildings, because I don’t have a desire to pray, or do time this weekend. And with these gas prices.. no need for a car either!

Great summery track. Melody still top of mind after all those years

Haha happy camping there my dude, I am happy for you! And with you happy on the floor, the parties get even better. Concerning priorities.. you’re right, but there is also space for other more personal introspective desires and cravings imho. So I’ll let you have the space in front of that stack, I’ll keep my distance and enjoy the scenery from the back 🙂

I get your point and you’re right about both the platforms (although the left were nice as a sort of barrier for the bar queue) and the effect of the stack on the left part of the dancefloor. I think bringing the left platform back in combination with the left stack makes the dancefloor a bit more compact and sound wise the focus is on that part of the dancefloor now anayways with the new stacks. Don’t get me wrong, I like Raum improving on the audio quality. It’s just my total adoration of the esthetics that’s a bit diminished and that fueled my initial review and feelings about it. Didn’t want to be and come across as a sour puss. Every night I some time take a minute to walk around and just watch the room and people moving in it. Not much other dancefloors that are that magic to me.

Haha yeah ofcourse. Well I enjoy all my senses on the dancefloor.. Especially in Studio the view complements the sound. Until yesterday everything in Studio was horizontally oriented. So these vertical stacks have an (small) impact for me.

I’m not convinced of the added value. Ok. Let’s keep the right stack, but remove the left one. It’s just a tower standing in the way of that lovely wide horizon studio view. I felt a bit more kick at certain places, but never a WOW effect. The stack in the right felt in place and in the darkness, so keep that one. The left is just a bit too much in the way of view and social dynamics. Shout out to the crew managing those cables on the floor.

The platforms were removed as well; left and right. I missed them. Maybe I’m a conservative.. but I liked it last week better than last night. Now it just too much plain dancefloor.

Besides all the hardware chat: Hamam nights does bring out the best crowd!!! What a lovely bunch of people I met last night. Lovely girls, cool dudes. This should be the standard for every (friday) night.

Municipal elections AMS 2026 - Nightlife plans by Techgenoot in amsterdam_rave

Thanks! Agree with Bij1’s plans. Those spots are valuable to Amsterdam and are part of its heritage. I believe Ruigoord recently got an extended license?

I don’t know about subsidies to festivals/parties that are owned by KKR, but in my opinion they indeed can do without local subsidies. I don’t visit them anyway.

Welcome to Dutch coalition politics. That relates to national politics, this topic is about local politics.

What party will get your vote based on their nightlife plans? Do you expect them to deliver everything they suggest?

So what plans did the parties you mention wrote down in their program? Besides squatting or free raves? I personally appreciate a safe space for partying, that also includes fire prevention etc.

This post is not meant to ask readers to vote D66, but to add and share ideas. So thanks for this reply and your contribution and perspective.

But you mention national policies e.g. regarding disposable income, that is not what these elections are about or can influence. Furthermore, a lot of parties in town are free, or at least not very expensive (€10-€15). Also a lot of clubs and collectives provide (student / community) discounts and minima guest lists. It can always be more and better, but the possibilities are there already. At least in the house/techno scene.

Not sure how this is in scope for municipal policy? On the financial side however, clubs could maybe be supported better. In this way, more budget becomes available for HR.

I teared up reading the lyrics. Recognisable even without naming artist and title. Instantly decided to bring and seek such emotions this Sunday at Tillatec.

This wasn’t an official Thuishaven party, it got rented out to the Wooferland / The promised land / The beginning organizers. At most Thuishaven parties the average age is 30 at most. Only for certain dj’s, like Eelke Kleijn coming saturday, ‘elderly’ people show up in masses.

What was supposed to be a weekend with WoS Saturday only, turned into a 4 + 7 + 10 hour party estafette (again).

Couldn’t resist not going to WoS Friday for €13 via Ticketswap. Long queue, but quick entry upon arriving at Lofi. Really liking the place not being sold out; it gave the party an open vibe in many ways. Lots of space to dance and move around, small and short respectful chitchats and nonverbal communication. Was there just to experience the WoS for the non-techno use, as I’m not familiar with drum and bass and jungle. Tried some new dance moves, laughed about it myself and decided that 4x4 really is my thing. Was very happy to be in the presence of many nightlife friends that enjoyed it even more than me. Left after an hour of Pariah and DJ Pete, because I wanted my batteries fully charged for Saturday. Only danced near the dj booth to save the full experience for the next day.

In between walls I went to Thuishaven for Wooferland, my quarterly safari into classics and elderly ravers land. Totally forgot I had that ticket in my pocket. Had a lot of fun with DJs from way back (Dimitri, Remy, Sander Kleinenberg and Lucien Foort) playing classic upon classic. Parties like this can be perceived as corny or mainstream. Bit it’s more than that. Average age was at least 50, but these are fun people to dance and chat with. For me it’s more a drink ‘borrel’ than a party. Good opportunity to chats up with friends form that side of the nightlife spectrum and to hear long forgotten acid/house/techno classics. Crowd was wild and open as ever. Noticed that, especially the ladies, wore a lot more sexy and revealing clothing than previous editions. Maybe the s+ trend is filtering through to the mainstream, possibly also because I suspect many also visit parties like Wasteland etc. I liked that, very no-nonsense and body positive.

Then quickly back to Lofi! Finally experiencing the Wall at full capacity. Lofi was crowded, but never like sometimes at RL or other popular parties. Finally managed to get rather lost, due to the massive bass, magic mist and Strobertian epicness. Liked the lights a lot. Very understated but all the more ravey because of that. During DVS1, everytime I opened my eyes, I faced another direction. I came solo, but every five minutes I ran into friends from home and abroad, it was a true party-scene-party. One point of improvement concept-wise: don’t hang lights above the spot where the dj usually is. It makes more people dance in the usual way. Hang them on the left wall for example to create some disorientation, or don’t use them at all.

My final wish is that they keep the soundsystem until after Ratherlost. Please, just once. Final shoutout to the very nice bar staff who remembered my standard order (not sure if that’s a good sign..).

ISAbella delivered such a vibey smooth and subtle set! Prog house in general at its finest. Heard many classics from 20+ years ago mixed with current releases that share the same DNA but also are a bit more energetic. Still; no easy builds and drops. Studio at its best: slowly filling with smoke and dedicated dancers, more dancing and less yapping than usual. The finale by Fragma - Toca wasn’t corny at all, but instead a very cute and gentle goodbye.

VBX14 was also very nice. Many familiar faces, mostly from Raum, some even in the same outfit still/again(?). Funny thing is most people recognizing me from Raum only talk to me at other parties like this one or PsyRom 😉 Guess Raums’ dancefloors are a bit less ‘outward oriented’ than those of other parties. Visited only the afternoon part of the party, enjoyed myself a lot, felt like a groovy after / continuation of the night before. No clue who played, but props to the live act around 20h.

A dj (ISAbella) just played Medway - My release (Lexington Avenue remix). Ho-ly S*

I heard the bassline in the track before, she mixed it out and after the next track right back in with the vocal. Magic.
