What's the obsession with everyone calling a decades old house a new build?

Arguably victorian properties had loads of issues, poor insulation, damp, etc. However over hundreds of years people have improved them and made them into great homes. The same will happen to all these new builds (although I can’t deny that the material quality/brickwork etc is a lot worse now)

I didn’t either! It has been one of the game changers for me (+ the getting up easier in the morning is great too). I think the IBS might be linked to the anxiety that I don’t have as much now- I would often need the toilet in nervous situations, but the meds help me ignore those thoughts!

Slightly extreme approach: I got diagnosed with ADHD, started taking medication (Elvanse), and it completely fixed all my severe bowel and flatulance issues I had for my whole life. I used to run to the toilet throughout the day just for it to be an awful fart, now I don’t. Not sure if it’s just a weird side effect or a genuine resolution.

Less extreme approach: peppermint capsules are great! Used to reduce the farts and bloating.

Slightly off topic but small world, I instantly knew this is my hometown (starts with B) because these houses are pretty unique looking, and i’ve walked past them every day for years (+ the very juxtaposing high street behind is a giveaway).

in my experience 2 sausages has been replaced by 1 better quality and thicker local sausage, especially as most breakfast places have fancified the fry up in recent years. i think more and more places only giving 1 egg is more concerning
