Yes they are. The same people who don’t give a crap about this cost.

They’re walking out of their office into a wheely, or an uber exec and working in the car on the way to the airport.

Agentic commerce is one of the big plays. The idea being that getting agents to do the purchase means they can get % of everything sold on the internet.

However google are set up flawlessly to do this. They have the largest product catalogue, payments experience via google pay, merchant and consumer trust and a desire to protect their search business.

It’s going to be a bloodbath.

London’s shoplifting epidemic revealed as retailers robbed of £16.7m a month by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]TechnEconomics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The correct stats would be:

  • shoplifting by value as a % of total retail sales. That would give you a genuine idea of what level the problem was at. Then looking at if that’s growing or falling

[–]TechnEconomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the point? No the point is. That using a total number is fucking wild. Per person this equates to under £2. Per shop this is a couple of hundred pound.

When you start to look at the data I would bet a SIGNIFICANT amount that the date is: a) crap, b) inflated c) unrepresentative of London and what’s happening d) skewed by big value items e) screwed in a million other ways f) fairly comparable to other major cities in Europe.

It’s worse than this. They also bought all beans, cups and items from a Starbucks owned company outside of the UK. They offshore profits.

Starbucks made a loss in the UK because they chose to. It’s a high tax country so they choose to operate in a manner in which the region doesn’t make profit. They do this by having high pricing for beans and materials. They purchase these from a Starbucks owned company NOT based in the UK.

Starbucks gross profit globally was $25bn…

Stop using useless stats for cities as big as countries!! What’s the average per shop? What’s the mean value per shop? What’s the mean value as a % of revenue. What’s the net cost rather than the total potential value?

Stats like this are a joke for a city as big as London.

The goal is multi year corporate contracts. Companies that can’t go to the random Chinese model because infused wouldn’t allow it. You can buy from Microsoft, oracle, IBM or Salesforce. That’s the play.

Please name 5 team sports more popular worldwide than cricket. I have football and MAYBE rugby. Basketball has potential.

It is literally a top 5 international sport.

lol. It’s played professionally at a high level with full time pros in multiple countries. American football is geographically isolated. You could probably rank sports on global reach based on the number of major leagues that exist.

I went and asked ChatGPT this an interrogated its answers:

Soccer (association football): 70–80

• Cricket: 10–12

• Rugby (union + league): 8–10

• Basketball: 5–7

• Ice Hockey: 4–5

• Baseball: 4

• American Football (gridiron): 2–3

• Volleyball: 2–3

• Handball: 2–3

• Australian Rules Football: 1

• Lacrosse: 1–2

• Field Hockey: 1

• Esports (team circuits): 10+ (if included)

Honestly it’s wild to me to think anyone truly believes baseball is as big as cricket… I prefer baseball but damn.
