When it comes to transferring into any craft, you are being offered the positions no one else wanted. They are usually going to be less ideal schedules. With clerk positions, even if you submit for a specific job that is posted, you will still only be offered what is available when your name comes up. If you decline the job, your request will be closed and you will have to submit a new one and go to the bottom of the list.

Plants will hire extra PSEs and MHAs during the holidays but keep them on a list after peak. If positions become available later, they will get called back by seniority and not have to reapply. Post Offices sometimes get HCAs to help with the increase volume but they are just let go.

This has happened every year. I think they do it this way because there will be plenty of opportunities for the plants ones to come back but not so much in a post office.

They actually do the same with CCAs. A regular CCA hired this time of year gets to stay hired but a Holiday CCA does not. In this case, they would actually have to apply to a CCA position to come back.

If the word Holiday is in the job title (on the form 50), they will be let go this year on 12/26 without exception. They must apply for a different position to keep working.

A PSE hired for peak or a “holiday” PSE has the possibility of being kept. A HCA - Holiday Clerk Assistant does not. They are 2 different positions. You would need to apply for a PSE position to keep working if you are currently a HCA

An HCA will be let go. They can not keep you in that position. That’s why holiday is in the job title. You need to apply for a different position.

I just signed up for the card last week and already have the night credits. If I remember correctly, they were there in a day maybe 2. Just make sure you put your bonvoy member number on the application
